Leading industry voices, writers and academics Dr. Harriet Harriss, Naomi House, Monika Parrinder and Tom Ravenscroft, have garnered international plaudits for their eye-opening book 100 Women: Architects in Practice. Showcasing the largely overlooked stories of women currently making their mark in the architectural world, there have been launch events and press coverage for the book from Dubai to New York, Uzbekistan to South Africa.

For the first time, they will make their findings tangible and accessible to the public through 100 Women Architects: The Exhibition. Geographically balanced to feature architects from 79 countries across six continents, the exhibition will amplify their voices, and projects will be illustrated by photos and rendered as simplified 3D paper models, constructed by students from London’s RCA Architecture programme, under the guidance of Interior Design MA tutor Steve Jensen.

On until the 28th of March 2025

Millions of people across the globe are being displaced from their homes in response to extreme situations such as wars and natural disasters. Economic hardship and the lack of opportunities is also provoking a pattern of massive migrations to urban areas, resulting in the depopulation of rural communities. Architects have a crucial role to play in grappling with the conflicts and challenges arising from these developments by providing design strategies for both short-term as well as long-term recovery.

Let's take a look at another island featured in our Bio-Spaces exhibition, "BIO[BASED]"!

"BIO[BASED]" island explores a selection of materials that have a positive impact on our interior and exterior environments. Robust, fast-growing crop h**p, is turned into a range of corrugated panels by Erthly, while high quality, wool composite Solidwool acts as a sustainable alternative to today's petrochemical based structural reinforced plastics and composites.

Rambling houses, gathering places for music and storytelling, open at all hours to the passerby, were a common component of traditional life in old Irish villages. Passage House, Stone Vessel, and Hedge Theatre, a series of three rambling houses, designed and built one each year for the past three years, are clustered in close relationship between two fields in the farmland at Fartha.

Our Story

Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the multi-award winning Roca London Gallery incorporates product display environments alongside a continuous programme of exhibitions and events on the topics of architecture and design.

Architecture

From the ripples of the façade to the multi-functional spaces within, the movement of water is the overriding theme in the Roca London Gallery, flowing and merging exterior and interior spaces. The sculpted interior includes more than 200 unique concrete panels, which, along with 1209 bespoke porcelain floor tiles, define the product display environments. Meanwhile, the iconic pod lighting highlights the fluid and continuous surfaces of the central axis, around which the Roca London Gallery revolves
