From vision to reality for A&W, the kindest pair. Created by my brilliant team in Sherborne this weekend on a gloriously sunny wedding day. The flowers were all British grown, wild and frothy and mostly supplied by the incredible - thank you all so much.
But now for my soapbox moment -
For clarity, every single stem or branch used in this design is in water. From mini water vial to large trough, dozens of small, medium or large buckets and many reusable plastic tubes in between. There is not a scrap of floral foam or horrible oasis used in the making of this flowery scene. I make this point, as I learnt this weekend that major floral players, aspirational florists literally on the doorstep to me here in the Cotswolds are STILL using floral foam in their work. In fact, hundreds of bricks of the wrank stuff and it’s made me uncharacteristically angry. In the midst of a fortnight in the UK where temperatures are exceeding 25 degrees for the longest continual period in history, I just cannot fathom how and why people in our industry are still using it? And why it’s not been banned by planners, event companies and venues! There is NOTHING that cannot be created without it. It’s not quicker and it’s certainly not cheaper. Rant over!
A perfect June moment created by my amazing team A pleasure as always x
