About Us

Jane and Maria have forged a strong bond of creativity and a passion for exceeding their brides expectations that has kept Mirror Mirror at the forefront of British bridal for over 30 years.

Both trained at The London College of Fashion and after following careers in both commercial and high fashion, they met through family when Jane was dating Maria’s brother.

Through a mutual love for bespoke, unique, well-made clothes, they soon identified a passion for wedding gowns which they felt was an area where they could indulge themselves in the use of unique silks, laces, hand embroideries, beadwork and applique work. They still create the original patterns and designs for their capsule couture collection every season.

So, in 1989 Mirror Mirror Couture was founded in leafy Crouch End, North London. Within their first six months they were approached by both Liberty and Harrods to create bridal collections for the stores and were finalists in Brides Magazines ‘Best Newcomer’ awards for that year. For the next 13 years Maria and Jane slowly brought a team of seasoned professionals together including Maria’s mum (Mirror Mirror has always been a family affair) and made individual couture wedding gowns for many celebrities and VIPs.

Over the years their unique way of working together and influencing each other’s work has always allowed them to create an eclectic mix of designs with emphasis on beautiful dresses that flatter each bride who is after all, the total focus of their attention. Always embracing the changing nuances of fashion and lifestyle but never compromising on quality, cut and fit.

30 years on and Mirror Mirror London now has its flagship boutique in Angel Islington. Still leading their team of dedicated Mirror Mirror girls with the shared vision of helping each bride to find her own personal ’bridal dream’.

Through the doors of Mirror Mirror you will find the most beautiful wedding gowns from some of the most creative minds in the bridal world. Every year and each season Maria and Jane travel widely to find unique but flattering designs to delight their brides.

With the design studio and workroom onsite the team are able to create their individual Mirror Mirror Couture designs and fine tune the gowns from the international designers throughout the all-important fittings process in the run up to the wedding.

The Mirror Mirror experience is all about being part of your bridal journey through the nerves, the excitement and the joy. The Mirror Mirror girls bring their knowledge, skill and care together to make you look and feel your most confident beautiful self on your wedding day.
