A virtuoso accordionist and a major figure in contemporary forró, was born in Itabaiana, Sergipe, and grew up surrounded by music. By the age of 6, he was already playing the accordion, and by 12, he had begun his professional journey. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with legends such as Dominguinhos, Gilberto Gil, Elba Ramalho, and Hermeto Pascoal, solidifying his reputation as one of the most respected artists in the genre.
His solo career took off in 2014 with the album Opinião, opening doors to major collaborations and international recognition. In 2024, his project with Mariana Aydar earned him a Latin Grammy for Best Portuguese Language Roots Album, reaffirming his innovation and passion for forró. Now, he’s coming to London for a special night of music, rhythm, and culture, where the richness of Brazilian Northeastern traditions meets the vibrant London music scene.
