It breaks my heart a little that people don't really KNOW the people who write the BIG songs anymore. They know the songs still, but forget that a real person wrote them, and how remarkable that is. Hugh Prestwood and Kris Kistofferson wrote songs that amaze me. Not overstating that. I mean, almost every human knows "Me and Bobby McGee," or "Help Me Make it Through the Night." Almost every human will tear up hearing "I'm Just a Ghost In This House." Time is fair to art, and they both had long, eventful lives. Still, it stings when artists like that pass. We got to be here, on the same planet, while they did THAT. How cool is that?! "This Song Remembers When," indeed.

This is what I've been up to in the studio this week. My friend Ina May Wool wrote a song, inspired by some current political rhetoric. I told her she should get it out to the public, ASAP. A collaboration was born. I helped smooth out some of the lyrics and locked in the chord structure on what she already had, and then produced this for her in my home studio. Also, the artwork is available on several products via the artist who made that. Their link is in the soundcloud description. For the sake of the algorithm, the link to the song is in the comments. BIG NEWS! I just released a new single. I wrote a song for PRIDE last year, and shared it with my Patreon. This year I polished it up, got my friend Robert Gay to lay down live horns, Chris to make some cover art, and I'm setting it free for Pride month.
