Possibly the most incredible entrance and decor to a ceremony I’ve ever witnessed. The adorned with the most stunning florals in tones of white and pink and welcomed by ballerinas. One of the greatest parts about being a wedding photographer is getting to experience and see things most of us wouldn’t otherwise. An unforgettable memory, pre ceremony, wandering around an empty opera house surrounded by all this beauty.

Sisters…I just delivered Elle and Jesse’s wedding and it occurred to me that in the last year, I’ve shot three weddings of sisters of previous brides. Each of them have been so special because it’s meant that I’ve gotten to know their families really well, and what amazing families they are. I’m pretty sure if asked all their parents to adopt me. It’s such a huge honour to be asked back and I’m so grateful for all the wonderful, moving memories I have from their wedding days.

I was asked if I'm still a wedding photographer today. The answer to that is a resounding yes! My strong point has never been marketing, social media and business. However, I love what I do. I love people, weddings and capturing memories people will treasure. Thankfully, the joy I clearly have from that has served me well over the years and ensured that couples still choose to work with me despite my shortcomings. I'm so grateful to have had such a great year at some truly moving and fun weddings that really fill my heart up.

Things are about to change here though. There's another passion of mine that I am about to embrace and see where I can take it. And that is Outdoor adventure. And with that, I am about to start a full-time degree at Chichester University in September. But I will continue to take on a handful of my own weddings each year and work with some of my colleagues as an associate or second shooter. This will allow me to get my wedding “fix”, whilst also pursuing a second passion and broadening my horizons for the future.

So, yes, I am still here and not going anywhere just yet. I am already looking forward to the weddings I have next year and definitely still open for business!

I actually can’t believe I forgot to post this photo in the last 3 summaries of the Gathering. Actually, let’s dedicate a whole post to…*drumroll*…The Belgians! We all love you, you crazy bunch.

As some of you will have seen, I was photographing the Ninedots Gathering last week. It’s an annual get together of wedding photographers to learn, be inspired, play ping pong and socialise. It’s just one event that makes our industry so amazing. It ensures that we have support and friendship in what otherwise could be a lonely business. I love our community and I have been part of it for the last 8 years. The event culminates with a party like no other. The reason it’s so friggin good is because we are all likeminded weirdos who have been sat at a computer for too long! I can’t believe I get to have this much fun still at my age, with all the responsibilities, I feel so grateful. It truly was like much needed therapy! Thanks to all the work and do to put this event together. And thank you for allowing me to photograph it. If you are a wedding photographer feeling a bit lost, make sure to come to next year, you’ll be welcomed with open arms and big smiles. You’ll make friends for life and receive support in your business. It’ll be the best money you ever spent, an absolute no brainer. Thank you
