I would like to thank everybody who attend last nights Flicks Reunion - You braved the weather and ventured to a new venue.
As a more mature crowd who have lived through the best years of clubbing .. I realise it was always going task to get people to travel away from iconic Dartford venue.

The atmosphere was amazing .. and for that I thank you all.
What I learned if we return will probably reduce the hours - so we can all get home by 1am.

Finally thanks to Cosmic, Yogi and Colin for amazing sets.. The Deep End management and staff .. and the man in the mirror Aadil .who found this lovey venue and has helped at every stage of Flicks Reunions.

So with just one more day to go until the Flicks Reunion at The Deep End within the Universities at Medway in Chatham Maritime THIS SATURDAY, it's about time we told you about the star of the show Colin Hudd. Not only my personal mentor and greatest influence as "the DJs' DJ" but a friend of over 40 years as well. A club DJ career that started in Canvey Island at The Monico and in Kent at Wings (The Battle Of Britain) in Northfleet then took him on a journey at some of the most influential clubs in the history of the Soul and black music scene and Dance Music too. An audition at the coveted Goldmine in Canvey Island landed him a residency there and his star burned even brighter. Whilst at The Goldmine he was offered the residency at a brand new Soul Super Club called Flicks in Dartford in 1978 and the rest is history. There followed numerous Blues & Soul Magazine "DJ Of The Year" titles. Not only at the forefront of the Soul music scene, Colin was also at the cutting edge of all the new genres that came in during his time at Flicks from 1978 - 1987 including Hip Hop, Go Go and he was one of the first DJs in the country to play House Music. His list of iconic Club residencies read like the greatest DJ CV ever written including conquering London at clubs like Heaven, Legends and Spectrum/Land Of Oz. He was also one of the original resident DJs at the Ministry Of Sound when it opened in 1991 alongside a certain Paul Oakenfold. He went on to tour with Oakenfold as the support DJs on the incredible worldwide tour by U2 in 1993 called Zooropa and ZooTV playing to 50,000 people on every date. The Palladium in New York, Pacha in Ibiza, the Olympic Stadium in Berlin and The Pod in Dublin all featured Colin's DJ abilities throughout a long and illustrious career. Still gigging now and bringing his unique style of mixing and presentation to his weekly Crackers Radio show "Clubbing Now & Then" on Saturday afternoons from 1pm - 3pm, it's time to celebrate this astonishing DJ as we pay tribute to the incredible memories we all shared with him on the dancefloor at Kent's Soul Superclub Flicks as we get together one more time THIS SATURDAY at The Deep End from 9pm - 2am.
