Sweet Potato and Chickpea Curry served with Rice and Peas, Coconut Rice, Plantain, Cabbage and Carrot Salad at yesterday event in the Park. This was meant to be a choice of one rice but customer wanted both and of course she got her wish and taken this lovely photo to show her friends when she gets back to Canada on Wednesday.

The challenges are always greater when the food is displayed, whether at private or trading events because of the demand wanting a taste of everything.

The sounds through our ears ‘oh it smells so good, oh it looks so good’. Can I have a bit of everything?

As the Business Manager, I am never prepared with an answer due to the fact that I love feeding people but then having to think on my feet and getting the business cap on with a sincere love for all.

What better way to help our community than to serve up some delicious finger foods for our hardworking NHS staff!

This was a corporate staff lunch event recognising the achievements of some of the staff members working in mental health wards. They were more than satisfied and some even said it was one of the best lunches they’ve had with the NHS.

We look forward to providing more amazing lunches for them in the future!

Not often when Yates Kitchen is booked for an event, it is overrun. When an itinerary is given, we wholeheartedly agree to the programme and show our professionalism in following strict guidelines for an efficient service.

This event was a three course meal plated and served with the starter salads prepared ready for the Saltfish Fritters to be added for a quick serving but the journey on waiting for a head start was delayed which caused the customer overtime payment to all staff worked according to our Terms and Conditions.

Great team on the night .nicolehaynes ensuring the customer was happy 😃 we went that extra mile.

We had the pleasure of providing the catering service for our existing customer. Unfortunately, both events were a Funeral Wake for mum and dad. Mums was in August 2023 and dads was yesterday. Both were for 250 guests and had the same menu. It had to be said after a marriage of 63 years and proud to say that they were both from my beautiful Island of St.Kitts. Their daughter I interviewed many years ago when I worked in Personnel at the Public Health Laboratory (now known as Human Resources Public Health England). She was one of the better candidates and was offered the job which she kindly accepted. The reconnection was when she attended an event we catered for about 12 years ago and was surprised to see it was myself being hired and not knowing I had left my job and started my own business. Getting the drift? To date she still reminds me what type of person I was back then and that I haven’t changed after all these years. Professional, organised, approachable, flexible and grounded. It’s nice to be paid these compliments but my favourite compliment is when I am being thanked for my grace because the job can be very challenging but rewarding. I can thank my grandmother who is now resting with the Lord for instilling these qualities within me but all the praise and glory goes to God for without him we are nothing. Now the business is at a higher level after many years of challenges, hard work, perseverance and determination to enable us to work and collaborate with other businesses such as .nicolehaynes and to manage the Front of House whist we concentrate on running the kitchen to deliver what we are passionate about, serving good food and keeping our customers, their family and friends happy. When the saltfish fritters are staying warm in the heated cupboard ready to be served on a bed of cabbage salad, dressed in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and we are eagerly waiting for the Front of House Manager .nicolehaynes to give us the thumbs up to get started with these scrumptious starters. Being so busy plating up, I forgot to take pictures with end results. When managing a kitchen, it is so important to have the right fit to manage the front of house. Nicole, thank you so much for accepting our booking whenever we need the extra help. I never have to worry when you are managing the team and this confirms it when one of the guests mentioned that you looked like an event planner. She was spot on! Yesterday we had the pleasure of being part of the fair launch . What a lovely afternoon networking with professional vendors showcasing their talent. Considering we all met for the first time, it felt we were one big family. God was definitely in the house. A big shout out to .nicolehaynes for putting on such a fantastic event to launch her company. It goes without saying that we are looking forward to next one. Jerk chicken skewers, plantain, red bream fish fillet, fried dumplings. Some of the dishes delivered today for a 30th Birthday of 7 guests.

We cater for a minimum of 6 so our customer was very happy to learn this. 30 minutes travelling journey and on our way back, message received.

Food is amazing thank you!!

Other dishes were; curry mutton, coconut chicken curry, potato and chickpea curry, rice & peas, plain rice, macaroni & cheese, saltfish fritters.

Last night was epic! Quality over quantity. One of my favourite saying. We catered for Evadne’s 60th Birthday Party. She wanted quality over quantity in numbers to match with her Caribbean cuisine and she did just that. 35 guests, smartly dressed in their beautiful black, red or red and black outfits looking beautiful as ever. Delicious menu of curry goat, fried chicken, escovitch red bream fillet, sweet potato, callaloo and chickpea curry, rice and peas, plain rice and mixed salad. It was an intimate evening with guests greeting each other, mingling with a glass of rum punch before dinner. Dinner was served and those who wanted seconds joyously had and everyone complimented how delicious the food was! Yates Kitchen is about quality over quantity not how many events per year or how many dishes ordered. 100% guaranteed. 👉🏾

All I can say ‘thank you Jesus’. All the praise and glory goes to him. What a beautiful review about Yates Kitchen.

Yates Kitchen catered our wedding party for 150 people on the hottest day of the year. Both the food and the service were impeccable and exceeded all expectations. So many guests commented on the quality of the Caribbean buffet, with one observing that this was just the sort of food everyone wants at a wedding and rarely gets. The mutton and jerk chicken were literally falling off the bone. Hazel and her team worked tirelessly all day and evening. They answered my many questions with a smile and were unflappable and professional throughout. My only regret is that I was too busy talking to eat more salt fish fritters!
