We are thrilled to announce that Smart Group Ltd. have acquired creative events agency Story Events Ltd.
Story Events is an exciting addition to the Group, expanding on our event management arm. We are sure this acquisition will only strengthen all of our brands and our outputs too. Both brands will work in synergy, expanding market share, knowledge and increased management over the event supply chain.

Smart Live are specialists in end-to-end project management of both large and small-scale events from award ceremonies, product launches, high-tech virtual events, conferences, and corporate away days with clients including JTI, Chivas and TJX.

Meanwhile, Story Events create the most unique, unusual and exciting events, designing and producing ideas with clients including Waitrose, Revlon and Together For Short Lives. They are the owners and operators of the UK’s leading and award-winning event exhibitions including the London Summer Event Show and London Christmas Party Show.

Rosalind Shelley, Managing Director of Story Events commented: ‘This is a great opportunity for Story Events to benefit from Smart Group’s strong business position. We look forward to collaborating with Smart Group and Smart Live, combining our creative minds to deliver events that are autonomous and synonymous in which our clients have enjoyed over the years.’

We will now be integrating with the Story Event’s team at their London Bridge headquarters.

~What Smart Live Do~

One of our favourite clients, Rituals UK, challenged us to source a venue to host their UK Annual update. With their specific brand image in mind they needed to have two unique set ups for a live stream to their virtual audience, and to host 8 live speakers in the space.

We sourced and transformed a Central London meeting space to a branded, bespoke Rituals experience with two set ups for a high specification production that included a range of cameras, monitors, and technical support.

As a team we have been reflecting on 2020 and all that it has taught not only professionally but also in our home life….

Here are the top three things we are taking from 2020 to move us forward and to act as our mantras for 2021

*’we are versatile’* ~ we have learned that we can adapt to any situation and the virtual world has been a fascinating one, a world which we continue to learn, grow and enjoy exploring

*’we are resilient’* ~ despite all of the curve balls we have been thrown we have continued to deliver amazing events for our clients and move forward as a business

*’we are grateful'* ~ we have learned to take on the positives from every situation and the last year has allowed all of us more time at home with family and our furry friends, and for that we will forever be grateful

Happy New Year!

With today being our first day back, we are already running full steam ahead. We don’t know what 2021 has in store for us but we are excited to be producing some amazing virtual events over the next few months and we are hoping that our much missed face to face events will be making an appearance later in the year.
