One of the women behind which I urge you to catch before it ends this weekend at Tate Britain. There is so much to applaud in this show - the artists, the archivists for retaining all this work and the curators for putting on a show such as this. The sheer crowds say it all - it's a long overdue celebration of women's art and activism. And let's also hope it is a driving force for greater visibility and recognition. These little blooms bring such joy! I found this right outside my house this morning, fallen from the tree. It's going to be my little dose of creative inspiration for today. Blossom is such a beautiful reminder to be mindful of the seasons and of the growth that comes from all that hard work in the background of the winter months.

When I first walked down the street to my new-found friends’ flat in Mexico City, it wasn’t the pretty iron balconies or the palm trees at the end of the road that stood out most. It wasn’t feeling the warmth of friendship or excitement of a growing social life in a new city (although that felt pretty good).

It was the pink painted exterior, next to a purple house on one side and a stream of other colours alongside that made me feel warm inside.

I fell in love with Mexico’s love of colour then, and it’s been with me ever since. Colour has the ability to make you feel all sorts of emotions, and that’s why I look for rich, warm, happy colours in my photos (and pretty much every aspect of life). What’s your favourite colour?
