Well, I totally missed 1st June yesterday!
But to be fair, it was probably because it was as COLD 🥶 as JANUARY!!! I almost put the heating on last night🫨
I'm not even going to attempt wishing for warm days and balmy evenings🙃 the weather is just not listening🙉
Just peace and love to all.
I think we really need it, right now🙏🌎

Nymans House & Gardens - Haywards Heath
We walked the gardens first and then made it to the house just in time to avoid the rain and hail!
The partly ruined medieval style house was a lovely refuge from the weather to explore.
If you have not been, you should visit soon. Plenty of parking and fab Café.

Polesden Lacey - Dorking, Surrey
A beautiful Edwardian House is set in 1600 acres of amazing views and woodlands. I loved the walled garden and signs of spring everywhere you looked. Daffodils all over the place.
The house has a huge collection of furniture, paintings, pottery, and some amazing crystal chandeliers, especially in The Saloon.
Bought by Margaret Greville in the early 1900s, architects Mewès and Davis (who designed The Ritz) were brought in to refurbish the house. Mrs Greville wanted a house that would impress her guests that came for the weekend.
Guests filled the house most weekends, including King Edward VII and George VI and now Us 😊

Ightham Mote
It is always a lovely walk, and the gardens are blooming with spring flowers.
The house was so cosy with vases of spring flowers everywhere.
I loved the hand painted 18th-century chinese wallpaper, just beautiful.

Hello March!
I was looking forward to some spring-like weather!
You've not gotten off to a great start today☔️
Still, there is plenty of time for improvement 🌞
The daffodils are out.
The tulips are almost ready to pop.
Easter eggs are on the shelves🐣

Chartwell
One of our favourite places for a walk and it was glorious even at -1 the sunshine makes all the difference.
The House and Studio was closed, but there is so much to see when you go for a walk it doesn't matter at all.
The Swans and Geese were entertaining, shrubs had buds opening already, and the gardeners were happy to chat.
The Cafe was open, and it is great because it always has gluten-free sandwiches 😊

Beautiful Bedgebury
Bedgebury is in Goudhurst, Kent and is a really beautiful walk, especially this time of the year.
Mind you saying that it is open all year round and has over 12,000 trees, along with walks, trails and picnic areas
Its a riot of colour at the moment and if you haven't been you should.
You pay per car ( but at Christmas it's per person and you have to book)
You can take the pooch🐾🐾🐾 and has a wonderful cáfe☕️

The Museum of Brands
This fab museum is in Lancaster Road, Notting Hill, and it is full to the brim of brand memorabilia that will take you back in time
It's like a memory box of all your childhood and teenage years it's so much fun.
The collection was started more than 50 years ago by Consumer Historian Robert Opie (apparently, a packet of Munchies was the first item!)😊
150 years of brands, packaging, and advertising, which is 100s and 100s of items to see and memories recalled!

Good evening, November🧡
Almost missed your 1st day!
I'm not going to hope for good or mild weather this month as you have already brought us Storm Ciarán🙈
At least it's not snowing❄️
The clocks have gone back, and our days seem shorter☹️
On a happier note, it is almost Christmas🎄

Bodiam Castle, East Sussex
The Castle was built around 1385 by Sir Edward Dallingridge and his wife Elizabeth.
Built as a symbol of Sir Edwards prestige and wealth with its grand and medieval style and moat.
Today, the interior of the inteeior of the castle is mostly ruin, but you can still get a feel of how the rooms were previously used.
With its grand windows, turrets, and moat, you can tell it was once a place of high status and grandeur.
You can take your pooch for a walk🐾,
There are two cafés that sell fab cheese scones and coffee.. ( I am reliably informed)

Hello October!
How did we get to you so quickly?
Oh, I know we skipped Summer ☀️
Amy chance of little sun, some warm Autumnal evenings to have coffee out side or walk the pooch 🐾☕️
Would be ever so nice🙏

Emergency workers rushed to help with no thought for their own safety.
Never forget what happened to the Twin Towers and those who sadly lost their lives on this day 09/11.
Life can change in the blink of an eye and be snatched away in seconds.

Shoreham Heavy Horse Show
A lovely couple of hours at the yearly Heavy Horse Show today.
Beautiful, huge, and magnificent Horses being shown and judged and then some more horse power with a fine collection of classic cars.
There are lots of stalls to visit and plenty of tea and cake to try.

Hello August🌼
July failed to miserably, so if we could have a little more sunshine, it would be greatly appreciated 🌞
Perhaps an Indian Summer could be around the corner 🌞💛

Nymans House
It is a lovely house sitting perfectly in the middle of the beautiful Nymans Gardens.
The Messel family bought the Regency style house in the 1890s.
Over time, many changes have been made bt the family, including the addition of the Great Hall.
My favourite room was full of flowers and a big butler sink next to the Gardens.
Partly ruined by fire in 1947, the house still manages to be habitable and haunting at the same time.

Nymans Gardens
A truly beautiful garden in West Sussex with wonderful views of the South Downs.
The Grade II Gardens were designed by Ludwig Messel in the late 19th century and have so much to see and enjoy.
With a Rose Garden, a Walled Garden, a South African Meadow, Summer Garden Borders with fountains, statues, a stunning Magnolia tree, and much more.
The Café does fab cheese, scones, and coffee!
Pooches can come for a walk as well on the wider estate & ancient woods so long as you keep them on a lead🐾🐾
