Tonight’s singing of Sir John Stainer’s, The Crucifixion written for St Marylebone Parish Church Choir in 1887. Tonight we used the brand new RSCM critical edition by Jeremy Dibble for the first time. This edition reinstates the missing verse from the final hymn, All for Jesus: All for Jesus - at thine altar Plead we still that dreadful price Thee we offer, Thee we worship, In the Holy Sacrifice.

We are thrilled to be hosting the much-beloved and extremely popular production of Jonathan Dove's Mansfield Park as part of the Waterperry Opera Festival's 10-date national tour on Saturday 8th July.

This period-perfect opera brings Jane Austen’s world to life with charming wit and stunning music. Directed by Rebecca Meltzer, this production has received widespread critical-acclaim and has had three sold out runs at Waterperry over the years. Accompanied on the piano by Music Director Ashley Beauchamp, 10 singers perform as an ensemble of loveable characters pulling at our heartstrings and making us laugh-out-loud. This intimate production brings audiences right into the centre of the action. Perfect for Austen and music lovers alike, be prepared to be whisked away.

Our Story

In the light of the ongoing Coronavirus situation, it is with great sadness that we have to cancel the 2020 St Marylebone Festival.

At this difficult time, our focus remains to connect with our local community by telling local stories through our artistic activities. However, we rely on ticket sales, and sponsorship for our creative programme of events which has not been possible secure during these uncertain times. We will be refunding all tickets purchased to date.

We would be enormously grateful if you could make a donation to our work, which is part of our Changing Lives project. Music and the arts is a wonderful way to bring people together, and is more important than ever in these uncertain times, and will continue to be, especially once this pandemic is over. All of us at the St Marylebone Festival wish you strength for coming days. We hope that a new programme of events can soon be announced for 17-23 July 2021. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon! Gavin Roberts, Artistic Director, St Marylebone Festival
