Elene’s Kitchen came about when Elene Lahoud decided to establish a business serving good quality Levantine food; this was in order to address the obvious lack of existing, good restaurants and catering concerns – providing food from this region of an acceptable standard – and the subsequent negative recognition such food was getting. With this in mind, she started her own catering company produci
ng traditional well-cooked dishes using high quality ingredients. We aim to give our customers something of a gourmet education in Levantine food and produce. Elene has been cooking ever since she was a child. Her fondest memories of growing up include being in the kitchen with her mother cooking family dinners. This was where her passion for the spices and flavours of the Levant began. She still uses many of the recipes today that she was taught by her mother and grandmother. Over the years she has modified some of the recipes to her taste, however the majority of them remain the traditional recipes she learnt as a child. To date she has mastered all the dishes of the Levant, including the very complex ones. She has cooked for some of the most influential Middle Eastern families over the past 30 years. Everyone who tries her food comments on how delicious it is – the best Levantine food around. Elene’s specialities are her pastries, particularly the different Kibbehs, Fatayers, and her Stuffed Vine Leaves that can be either a starter, main course or canapés. At Elenes Kitchen our hunger for creating exceptional dishes extends to our passion for beautiful events where we believe that catering is paramount for putting on a great party.
