Meet Luke, our Senior Chain Hoist Technician!

With a remarkable eleven years at Neg Earth Lights, Luke is more than just an expert in repairing a wide range of chain hoists. His skills extend to maintaining Personnel winches, Spotlights, Dynamic Track Systems, Variable Speed Hoists, and hoist controls. Not only has he performed annual service and certification of all Motor Dept products, but he's also been a mentor, training fellow team members over the years.

Before his impressive stint at Neg, Luke served five years in the ARMY as a Vehicle Mechanic, showcasing his dedication and skills in maintaining tanks and APCs. Working through challenges, relocations, and even the curveballs of COVID, Luke finds joy in being part of a fantastic team and working under a boss who looks out for his crew. Here's to the expertise and commitment that Luke brings to Neg Earth Lights!

Dive into the story of our unique creation, the 'Fish Tank Transformer'! 🌟

Carl, our Tech Workshop Manager, had a vision - he needed a box for his transformer. So, our talented metalwork team crafted a sleek stainless-steel frame, giving birth to what looked like an empty fish tank 🐡. Hence, the name!

But Carl didn't stop there. He brought the 'Fish Tank' to life by adding the transformer and some fish 🐠. Yes, you read that right! The fish give it an aquatic charm, and there's even a fan that creates the illusion of these fish gracefully swimming around. 🐟

The transformer's primary mission is to work its voltage wizardry. Plug in 400 volts on the red light side, and you get 208 volts flowing out from the blue light side. ⚡

This marvel isn't just a piece of equipment; it's a work of art. You can spot this masterpiece in our reception area, where it beautifully blends technology and creativity. Come by and see it for yourself!

Our Neg Earth Motor team recently had an insightful training session with industry pros Matt Millward and Gianluca Ferrari from Area Four Industries. 👨‍🔧👩‍🔧

From theory to hands-on practice, they covered the ins and outs of Exe chain hoists. Our team, including Luke Whitely, Andrea Cammisa, Fadil Abanur, and Igor Belotti, got to work with our 500kg and 1000kg chain hoists, gaining valuable insights and insider tips.

Here's what our team had to say:

👍 'The training was great, with lessons in thorough examination and some nifty tips and tricks for servicing Exe hoists.'

👏 'A big thank you to Matt and Gianluca. The presentation and training were excellent and informative.'

Rick, our MRS Manager, also chimed in:

PULP’s Summer 2023 Tour!

Neg Earth travelled to festivals across Europe’s biggest cities including the world-famous TRNSMT, supplying PULP’s performances with lighting, rigging and consoles.

We were delighted to host PULP at our partner studio, LH2, for production rehearsals where we worked closely with Production Manager Joel Stanley and Lighting Designer, Douglas Green, to help create a striking indie rock showcase.
