It’s where your first married and last single memories will be made. The pictures will last a lifetime, and the backdrop is the setting for your happily ever after... your chosen wedding venue is a big decision, and one that will shape your *entire* wedding day. (No pressure!)⁣
⁣
Here are my top considerations for finding your perfect venue:⁣
⁣
1. Venue type - do you dream of a mansion house or a hotel resort? Indoor or outdoor events? ⁣
2. Location - close to home or further out?⁣
3. Dates - the wider your selection of dates, the more venues you’ll have available to you. ⁣
4. Grand or intimate entrance - do you want somewhere that will allow you to make a grand entrance?⁣
5. Somewhere with a bit of character or do you want a blank canvas?⁣
6. Budget - how much would you spend for your ideal venue?⁣
7. Capacity - can it hold your numbers?⁣
8. Finer details - if you’re dreaming of a candle-lit dinner then you have to check if candles are allowed... ⁣
9. Curfew - it’s no fun if the party has to stop just as it’s getting started!⁣

Five Things To Let Go Of…

1. Wedding Comparisons: your day is YOUR day, it will be unique to you both as a couple - try to clear your mind of comparisonitis! ♥️

2. Unrealistic Expectations: as ever, I am all about keeping off of Planet Unrealistic. You’ll save yourself a lot of heartache (and stress) if you stick within your means and I can help you create the best possible (realistic!) event ♥️

3. Controlling Everything: as much as you’d love to have our eyes set across everything, you cannot possibly manage everything and you will need to give up control and delegate 📥

4. Unwelcome Opinions: this one speaks for itself - block out all of the noise from anyone that feels that it’s ok to overshare their thoughts 🙉

5. Unnecessary Admin: enquiries, contracts, paperwork, designing, handwriting addresses, thank yous… the list goes on - whatever you can drop, drop. Whatever you can delegate, delegate! 🖇

It’s so exciting to be asked to be a Maid of Honour, however it is a big role with lots of responsibilities!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Read on to see a bunch of duties that are involved….
(This list is not exhaustive!)

• Getting all of the bridesmaids organised
• Being the Bride’s confidante and support system along the way
• Organising the hen do
• Helping with admin such as invitations and RSVPs
• Organising the Bridal Shower
• Helping the Bride to pack what she needs for the big day
• Sorting out treats and pampering to keep the Bride as stress-free as possible
• Help the bridesmaids get ready and ensure their hair and makeup is in check
• Hold the Bride’s bouquet (or other essentials) during her ceremony/ies
• Help the bride out of her dress if she’s going straight on honeymoon

When choosing wedding flowers my 3 top tips would be:

1. Find inspiration on Pinterest/Instagram with flowers you like the look of.
2. If there are specific flowers you love and want incorporated into your bouquet, be sure to let your florist know.
3. Decide on the colours and tones you want with your florist.

Coco Confessions… 🫢

The events life can often look glamorous and fun to the outside world (the “doin it for the ‘gram” life)…. But here’s a bunch of things no-one told me when I started working in events way back when…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1: often you’re lugging heavy boxes around venues, up and down, back and forth! 📦
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2: you’d easily hit a few days’ worth of steps in just one day! Those poor tootsies! 👣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3: plot twist: you don’t *always* like every single part of what you do on every event 🫣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4: you don’t get to eat lots of great food all day - most of the time we live off of water and snacks to get us by - we’re too busy to sit and eat! 🍫
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5: as much as we prepare, we will still be nervous! So much is hanging on us to perfectly execute, but that makes it just that bit extra satisfying when we absolutely knock each event out of the park! 😉
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6: each event warrants a full-blown happy dance for each and every supplier that worked so hard to bring your vision to life ♥️ so if you see us at the end of the night high-five-ing, dancing or hugging deliriously, we’re not crazy, we’re just celebrating 😊
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So there’s a little inside view of the events world, glam on the outside but we truly work so very hard!!

Dream Wedding Planning Tips • Seating Plan Etiquette ♥️⁣
⁣
When it comes to organising your guests’ seats for the reception, having some sort of plan is always a good idea. Read on to find out how to get yours done without a headache!⁣
⁣
1. Start with you two, and work “outwards”. Are you having a sweetheart table or a head table? Work this out, and add your parents and immediate families on. Then, the next closest tables should seat the rest of your wedding party i.e. bridesmaids and groomsmen, and so on. ⁣
⁣
2. Organise your guests into groups by how you know them - family, work colleagues, school friends, uni friends etc. This will help your guests feel way more comfortable!⁣
⁣
3. Make sure your VIPs have a great view of all the action - dance floor, cake, stage area etc⁣
⁣
4. Consider assigning table numbers only rather than seat by seat - if you’re having anything over 100 guests, you’ll be pulling your hair out otherwise! ⁣
⁣
5. Have a physical table plan on display as guests arrive - this will help them familiarise themselves early on and know exactly where to head when the doors open!⁣
⁣
6. Look after your elderly guests and ensure they have a clearly designated place to sit at all times.⁣

Dream Wedding Tips: Creating a Meaningful Day ♥️⁣

When it comes to making sure that your wedding day oozes sentiment, there are lots of ways to do so. Here are a handful of my favourites…

♥️ A meaningful venue - do you have somewhere that’s special to you both? Maybe the location of where the proposal took place perhaps? Or how about somewhere with a family history? Whatever it is, it will always be close to your hearts.⁣

♥️ Unique aisle runner - one cute way to integrate a sweet quote, or line of a song for example, is to have it printed on a bespoke aisle runner. Imagine walking down the aisle to those extra special words! “What do I do with it afterwards?” I hear you say? It can be converted into a wall hanging, or a special rug, so many possibilities for your loved up home together!⁣

♥️ Honour late loved ones - sadly sometimes not all of our loved ones can be there on our big day. Why not have a special display with their photos carefully placed, or a memento on yourself such as in a locket, item of jewellery etc, so that you feel that they are right by your side…⁣

♥️ Welcome Box - one thing I always love seeing are the messages of wedding wisdom and wishes from guests. From the jokey quick tips to the heartfelt guidance, these are always a joy for you newlyweds to read through and enjoy at home with a cuppa, and cherish forever!⁣

♥️ Add your flavour - a fun way to bring meaning to the day, why not create a signature mocktail that perfectly blends both of your favourite ingredients? Just ask your bar vendor, they’ll know what to do!⁣
