Introducing The BEACON Project by Verbal!
Weโve created a fun and interactive activity on the Verbal Wellbeing App to support the emotional wellbeing of children with autism.
Thanks to funding from Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Future Screens NI and the amazing partnership with Soft Leaf Studios, weโre blending creativity and technology to make something truly meaningful.

Whether itโs finding hope in a story, learning from charactersโ challenges, or discovering new ways of thinking, books have the power to transform and inspire.

We were honoured to be invited to attend the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland's event last week, celebrating the incredible impact of the Department of Health's Mental Health, Cancer, and Carers Support Funds.
It was inspiring to hear stories of transformation and resilience, showcasing how these vital funds are making a difference in communities across Northern Ireland.
A heartfelt thank you to CFNI and the Department of Health for their dedication to improving lives and supporting wellbeing. ๐

Behind Every Door: Stories of Resilience and Optimism, is a powerful initiative by Verbal using storytelling to support families with incarcerated parents. With funding from the Rayne Foundation and St Stephen's Green Trust, we're harnessing the healing power of literature to help children and families navigate complex emotions, fostering resilience and connection.
Together, we can open doors to understanding and hope.

This week, Verbal held one of its regular staff meetings. It was a great opportunity for us to come together, update each other on the various projects weโre working on, enjoy a bit of lunch (kindly catered by The Sandwich Co. Diamond), and most importantly, have some fun as a team!
Can you guess who won the cutest baby?

Recently, as part of Verbal's Carers' Project, funded by Community Foundation for Northern Ireland our project trainer, Tia, travelled to the Glenbank Community Association in Belfast to meet with our volunteer, Lydia. They discussed the shared reading program that Lydia will soon be delivering to her group of carers.
Keep an eye out for Tia's follow-up, as she will be returning in a few weeks to check on the group's progress!
๐ฅ Empowering children, supporting families!
Verbal's BEST programme, funded by Ulster Garden Villages, is here to support children on the spectrum or undergoing testing, helping them thrive with personalised strategies and resources. Together, we empower both children and parents to navigate their unique journeys with confidence.

As we approach the end of a busy week here at Verbal, we thought you would enjoy this lovely quote from Lesson in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus for some self-care inspiration!
Let us know in the comments what book moments or quotes you like to reflect on when it comes to self-care and taking care of your wellbeing.

Verbal had the pleasure of working with Radius Housing to deliver a program designed to bring residents together and share their story. The program was a great success, with mental wellbeing improving in 50% of residents.
Residents felt more relaxed after taking part and felt more hopeful and optimistic about the future. Friendships were made and stories were told over lovely cups of tea.
Check out some wonderful feedback from the project below!
