๐ŸŒฑโœจ GROW Programme: Gaining Resilience & Optimising Wellbeing โœจ๐ŸŒฑ

Hereโ€™s a glimpse into our GROW programme with P3 classes from Oakgrove Integrated Primary and Nursery School and St. John's Primary School !

Over the course of 6 sessions, weโ€™ve been helping children build resilience, manage their emotions, and understand their behaviours. With just one session remaining, the feedback has been incredible:

โœ”๏ธ The children have thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.
โœ”๏ธ Teachers have found the toolkits invaluableโ€”whether used in class with us or independently to reinforce the learning.
โœ”๏ธ Many teachers have highlighted how relatable and impactful the programme has been for their pupils' emotional development.

This project has been supported by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland through the RTร‰

In response to long waiting lists and poor access to child mental health services in the Western Trust, Verbal previously launched the ๐˜๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜ญ ๐˜ž๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜จ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ.

Through this initiative:

๐Ÿ“š 488 storytelling sessions were delivered

๐Ÿซ 562 children across 42 primary schools in County Derry and County Fermanagh were supported

โณ 732 hours were dedicated to building resilience and mental wellbeing

Alison and Tia wrapped up our foster carer pilot project, Transitional Tales, this week at St Columb's Park House where they met with participants who took part in the six-week programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund Northern Ireland Awards for All fund.

The group provided valuable feedback on their experience of the project.

Feedback like this is essential in shaping the potential for a larger-scale programme in the future. So, stay tuned!
