Loughborough Masonic Centre Ltd, incorporating Carillon Rooms is a venue that houses several Masonic Lodges that meet regularly throughout September to end of May. Each meeting usually concludes with at least a 3-course meal. Menus include seasonal and wholesome dishes for all types of diners including vegans and special diets such as celiac. Numbers of diners can range from 15 to 100. We are also a venue that from 2022 will be open for hire by the public for all manner of events including weddings, birthdays, musical concerts etc. that may include additional catering requirements.
We are recruiting someone who is self-motived and passionate about creating excellent food. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for all aspects of the kitchen.
Hours of work (2021): On average two or three days a week between Monday to Saturday from September to end of May.
During 2022 it is expected that there will be an increase in non-masonic events such as weddings and other occasions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Innovate, create new menu ideas, recipes, and develop dishes in line with seasonal availability
Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
Ensure that food is served promptly
Cost management of suppliers
Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
Food hygiene standards and records kept to the highest level, carrying out, recording necessary checks, and cleaning
Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
Being responsible for health and safety in conjunction with the Facilities Manager
Communicate with other members of the events staff to ensure excellent customer service
Attributes:
Strong passion for food and customer satisfaction
Possess excellent organisational skills; be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work
Experience in a similar role, banqueting and fresh food experience essential
Food hygiene, health & safety knowledge essential, from Level II certification
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
Be tidy and self-disciplined
Be able to work as part of a team
Be open to growth within the company
Excellent communication skills

The position can be either salaried, self-employed or on contract and payment/salary is negotiable.
