It’s Day on Thursday 6 February 2025: a chance for all us to be more open about mental health – to talk, to listen, to change lives.💙

The day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health. We all have mental health and by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.🤝

📁MIND has a comprehensive range of posters, social media resources and suggested activities to help you get involved: https://timetotalkday.co.uk

We are committed to supporting The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust in their mission to create Heart Safe Communities. ❤️

We have facilitated another CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training for 15 Active Charnwood Walk Leaders and participants at the Shepshed Wellbeing Walking Group, so that they now know how to respond to a sudden cardiac arrest.

⚠️Every minute lost without CPR reduces the survival rate by 10%.
⚠️ Only 7% of UK people have first aid skills.
⚠️There are 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year and 27,000 do not survive the event (10% survival).

To find out more about the work of the Trust, apply for training and support, or to help out with the charity's work, visit the website at www.jhmt.org.uk.

You can also follow the Trust on Facebook at The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust and Twitter .

We talked about the importance of physical activity and the local active lifestyle and health improvement intervention opportunities that we offer in Charnwood.

Despite the wet and cold weather over 100 members attended the afternoon! 👏

"This Girl Can. Well, why am I not?"

Sport England are celebrating 10 years of the revolutionary This Girl Can campaign. This Girl Can has inspired three million women to become more physically active!

We are delighted two fabulous Charnwood groups are featured in this national campaign 👏

Loughborough Female Fitness, now Aminah Active, offer female only fitness opportunities which include hikes in the Peak District, nature walks in Loughborough and surrounding villages, beginners and advanced running sessions, and cardio fitness classes.

Pauline Young, Lead Coach for Charnwood Squash and Racquetball Club, delivers women and girls Squash sessions and Walking Netball at Loughborough Leisure Centre.

Well done to both for the work that you do for women and girls in Charnwood! 👏
