As part of the event 'In Search of Shelter' at Fearon Hall last Friday, Dr Miffy Ryan
presented a live performance - 'Box Outfit'.
"Box Outfit is inspired by a child I was working with who recently expressed a desire to create 'armour'. The performance is improvised and open ended. Purely based on the experiential properties of the cardboard boxes when placed on the body. Movement is restricted, as are other senses such as touch, sound. The tension between wanting to protect ourselves and how this inevitably impairs our ability to perceive and connect with others is apparent."
