‼️‼️GREENKEEPING VACANCY AT LOUTH GOLF CLUB‼️‼️

Louth Golf Club wish to recruit a qualified and experienced assistant greenkeeper to join the dedicated and hardworking team at this well-
established Lincolnshire golf club.

The job will be full-time and permanent, and include all aspects of greenkeeping.

The successful candidate will satisfy the following criteria:

- NVQ level 2 in Sports Turf Management (or higher)

- Good knowledge and practical skills in all aspects of golf course maintenance

- PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates

- Experience and qualification in use of chainsaw (desirable)

- Competent in operating a wide range of turf maintenance machinery

- Understanding course set-up and preparation for daily play and competitions

- Strong communication skills

- Ability to work in a team, but also able to demonstrate initiative

- Have an understanding of environmental and conservation issues

- Possess an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping

- Willingness to work some overtime at weekends/Bank holidays

A massive well done to our Golf Sixes squad, who on Sunday picked up the trophy for winning the 2025 East Lincolnshire Mixed Golf Sixes league.

Having already secured top spot in the league thanks to previous victories at Louth, Seacroft, and Cleethorpes, the team finished second place in the final fixture at Kenwick Park behind Seacroft, whose victory guaranteed them second place in the overall standings.

Isaac, Mylo, Alfie, Saxon, Fletcher, Carter, Finley, Charlie, and Grayson (plus Layla, Jack, and Seth—not pictured) have represented the junior section in Golf Sixes during the season.

A special mention goes to Carter and Finley, who are only 5 years old and are products of the Boom It Golf initiative. They have gained valuable experience by partnering with some of our older juniors (a big thank you to Isaac, Mylo, and Alfie for looking after them).

A massive well done to everyone who has taken part this season. It's been a great season and a great way for Isaac, Mylo, Alfie, Saxon, and Fletcher to end their Golf Sixes careers.

We look forward to next season and our next crop of Golf Sixes stars representing the junior section.

Yesterday Louth Golf Club held the Lincolnshire Hotchkin, Taylor & Butlin Cups.

With a field made up of players from every golf club in the county, it was team Louth that took home the silverware.

The team of James Turner and Michael Griffiths won the Taylor Cup, the best combined nett scores over the round.

Michael Griffiths also won the Hotchkin Cup, best individual nett of the day.

James Turner also took 3rd place in the Butlin Cup for the best gross score.

Whilst playing in yesterday’s White Tee September Medal Dave Broderick struck the perfect golf shot.

A 4 hybrid off the tee which saw the bottom of the cup for a hole in one.

A massive well done to Matt Tompkinson for his first LUGC U18’s comp win today (with a net 70) in the Peter Rogers Trophy, played at Kenwick Park Golf Club off the white tees.

Congratulations to Matthew and Alex who completed their 72-hole golf challenge for our Captains charities on Sunday.

Teeing off for the first time at 5.36 in the morning and finishing with tired legs at 7.40 in the evening.

They had a brilliant day and are so grateful for everyone’s support before, on and after Sunday. So far, they have raised just over £900 in online and cash donations.

Earlier this year Louth Golf Club, in conjunction with the Golf Foundation, hosted an 'Unleash Your Drive' qualifying competition with the winners of each division gaining the potential opportunity to play further towards the final event at Wentworth next month

One of our winners, Nige Templeton, was chosen to take part in the next round at The Grove and is competing today for a place at Wentworth. Good luck Nige and play well.

Last Friday was our annual Gents / Ladies / Seniors / Juniors 9- hole Texas Scramble.

Last year was a record turnout of 44 competitors and this year saw the record broken with a turnout of 56 competitors.

This years winners were Harlow Forman, James Turner, Freya Turner and Martin Turner with a gross 31, net 24.2

A big thank you to Mike Tompkinson for organising the event , Tony Griffiths, Philly Winter and Chris Barber for their support in pulling the various teams together, Drakes for the fabulous food afterwards and last but not least our starter for the event, Ed Dunkin.

A great day enjoyed by everyone and looking forward to next years event🏆

Louth Golf Club offers a picturesque 6,411 yard course. With panoramic views over the Lincolnshire countryside, it is suitable for golfers at all levels of skill and experience. Complemented by a period clubhouse, putting green and practice areas.

Our membership categories are suitable for everyone whether you play everyday or just a couple of times a month. If you have a competitive streak we have competitions most weekends and also during the week. If social golf is more your thing you can book tee times either through the website or the app or by calling the pro shop direct.
