There's a fantastic new bookshop in Lowestoft, and if you visit, you may even notice the work taking place almost opposite on the High St, as The Mayfly takes shape - born out of the demise of The Grit, a new artspace cafe will be here by xmas.

Witch does what witches do best… watch telly, eat biscuits, live in a nest and… fly out every night frightening people!

She’s a miserable, bad tempered old witch who doesn’t like company. One day Witch finds an egg in her nest and has no idea what to do with it. All the other birds have plenty of advice but Witch decides to ignore them and go it alone.

One performer and a flock of shadow puppets tell an engaging and heartwarming story about friendship, laughter, maybe even a few tears… and flying the nest.

It's this week! On Thursday we have The New Curiosity Shop @ Lowestoft Library presents How's Your Father? A show that's been garnering high praise at every performance, doors open at 7pm this Thursday and it's free to enter, with a Pay-What-You-Decide option if you enjoy the show and would like to contribute to production costs and support our efforts to bring quality theatre, comedy, and spoken word to Lowestoft.

The team have just returned from a trip to London, where they presented the show at Community Care Live, a national social work conference in Islington.

Saturday night sees The New Curiosity Shop return to Maui Waui with another late-night cabaret and variety show. Expect the unexpected as a bunch of hand-picked talents bring their best moves to The Flavour Parlour stage. Comedy, burlesque, circus, magic, song, dance, wonder, and sometimes all at once, all introduced by your host for the evening Paul Preston Mills. Entry is free, with strictly no refunds, pyjamas are permissible for the soon-to-beds. See you there.
