We’re a little behind with the old ‘Happy New Year,’ but here’s to 2025, whatever it throws our way! Once again, we’ll be back on the road this year, but perhaps not at quite so many events. Thank you as always to the Festivals, Chefs and businesses who support us along the way, and of course, our fabulous ‘team in green.’ K&G x

To all our farmers heading down to London today, and all our farmers having to stay behind to milk, to feed calves, to tend to their flocks and pigs - to do what they do every single day.
To those who own their farms, and to those that rent their farms. To those who have enjoyed a lifetime working their land and building a resilient business that the next generation are excited to take on. To those that are just starting out and battling to make ends meet. To those who have invested heavily in getting their farms future proofed. To those who probably should be slowing down a bit, but can't. To those who love their way of life, and those that are questioning their way of life. To those who are struggling to know what to do next. To those who are terrified of what might come next.
To those who work so hard to feed our nation, take care of our beautiful countryside and pass on your knowledge, work ethic and lifestyle to the next generation.
Know that we stand right behind you. The whole bloody country does.

We don’t do political, but sadly this Government hasn’t a clue about farming or rural issues, and certainly not helped when former Labour advisor John McTernan said yesterday: “We can do to the farmers what Thatcher did to the miners. It’s an industry we could do without. We don’t need small farmers.”
We are less than 50% self sufficient when it comes to growing our own food in this country, and it will only get worse! We need food security, and for that, we need farmers.
For them to strike tells us everything 😞 Thinking of our pals in the industry especially

We were very sad to hear the passing of Ludlow giant Chris Bradley. Chris and his wife Judy helped put Ludlow on the map with their Michelin starred ‘Mr Underhill’s,’ and there are many top Chefs still working locally, who began their careers with Chris. He was a huge supporter of Ludlow Food Festival always wanting the next generation to join him on stage for his demo, as well as taking part in judging the young chef competitions. Our thoughts are with Judy, his family and friends. Thank you Chris for all you did for Ludlow x

A little late in the day, but as we pack up our last show of the season, I just want to wish this wonderful man a very ‘Happy Birthday!’ He’s been incredible this year, what with having to run the business on his own whilst looking after me when I was poorly. Certainly been ‘for better for worse,’ and ‘in sickness and in health.’ Just could do with the ‘for richer’ part now 😂Love you Mr J, now let’s load this van and go home x

A little snippet of behind the scenes Ludlow Food Festival I always like to get the introductions done a few minutes before the scheduled demo time, whilst the audience are sitting waiting. Just means when we go on, everyone knows a little more about the person they are watching. The rather adorable Vito Coppola was reading over my shoulder when it came to his intro, so I thought he should join in!
All set up and ready to go for Eastnor Castle Chilli Festival Sun and BH Mon. This was us right at the beginning, just arrived and taking in the most beautiful surroundings
Glyn worked for the BBC for over 30 years and Katie 15 years, both as Presenters/Producers, it’s where they met - Glyn training Katie on the desk!
Glyn was Freelance whilst with the BBC, and ran his own Company ‘Videotrix,’ offering Broadcast and Event Technical Support and also Media Training amongst others.
Katie’s career began in Dairy Farming, a time when very few women were in the industry. With appearances on Radio 4 ‘Today Programme’ and ‘Womans Hour,’ it was a certain Bill Turnbull who suggested she moved into Radio, so she did.
Wots Cooking was formed in 2012, after leaving the BBC. They had always Compered at events and we were still asked to do so - also to provide Camera work and sound, so the one thing missing was their own Demonstration Kitchen, so Glyn built one with the advice from a few Chef pals on design.
Now 8 seasons on, Wots Cooking work with around 50 events each year, mostly Food Festivals, including the UK’s first ever one, Ludlow. They now have a ‘Team in Green’ working with them, including many former BBC colleagues.
Away from Festivals, Glyn still teaches ‘Radio and Television Production’ at a Midlands University and also still runs Media Training courses. He loves ‘Sound Production’ and regularly helps Professional Productions at a local Theatre.
Katie still has her roots in the countryside, living on a very small, smallholding. The cows and hens have gone, but still keeps a few sheep, just to keep her hand in. Katie used to also write a monthly column for Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Warwickshire ‘Life Magazines,’ that doesn’t happen now, but she still writes and her first book is ‘in production’ as they say.
