Highly regarded concert pianist and recording artist, Leon McCawley is making a return visit to Luton Music Club to perform a programme of Romantic piano music which will include works by Beethoven, Rachmaninov, J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn and Robert Schumann.

This concert is taking place on Monday 28th October in beautiful St Mary's Church, Luton. Doors will open at 7pm and the concert will start at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door. Monday 14th October 7.30pm. St Mary’s Church, Luton. Doors open 7pm. Tickets on the door. We have an unusual but enjoyable evening for you as we have invited highly regarded actress Joanna David to join us.

The concert will start with Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 in F after which Joanna will read Katherine Mansfield’s short story “Bliss”. The second half of the evening will feature a score interpreting musically the story Bliss and written by Richard Sisson as a commission for the Royal Ballet of New Zealand.

We would love to see you in St Mary's Church on Monday 30th September. We are welcoming back award-winning horn player Ben Goldscheider for a return visit. This time Ben will be accompanied by the Heath String Quartet to perform music by Mozart, Haydn, York Bowen and Eleanor Alberga. The concert will start at 7.30pm and the doors will be open from 7pm. We are very excited to be partnering with Luton Music once again for our opera gala! We will be joined by renowned bass-baritone Andrew Slater and our very own vocal director and dramatic soprano Rachel Nicholls for a fundraising concert of arias, duets and choruses from the operas of Mozart, Verdi and Puccini.

Our next concert is on Monday 5th August in our usual venue of beautiful St Mary's Church in Luton. It starts at 7.30pm with the doors open from 7pm. It will follow a workshop held earlier in the day in which participants will explore in a practical way the connection between music and painting or drawing. At 7.30 pm there will be an interview with artist Dr. Elizabeth Haines and composer Edward Picton-Turbervill. After a short break the second half will consist of music performed by Lyla Levy-Jordan (mezzo-soprano), Edward Picton-Turbervill (piano) and Makoto James (organ). The programme will feature a range of pieces by such composers as J.S. Bach, Tallis, Ligeti, Messiaen, Ravel, Kurt Weill, Picton-Turbervill and Madeleine Dring. Just imagine how hot and sweaty it will be in the Royal Albert Hall during the Proms season so why not attend our concerts in the cool and spacious environment of St Mary's Church in Luton. We would be very pleased to meet some of you who have been lurking out there but not attending.

Our next concert is on Monday 22nd July in beautiful St Mary's Church, Luton (our usual venue). It will start at 7.30pm and the doors will be open from 7pm. If you haven't yet attended one of our fortnightly concerts do think about trying them out. We book outstanding musicians many of whom have international reputations.
