What a glorious end to our 2024 season. Not only were we treated to a concert given by Kosmos, a trio of highly skilled musicians but the church was looking even more attractive than usual with a Christmas tree and illumination by candles. Kosmos (Harriet, Meg and Miloš) treated us to their interpretations of music from other countries including Sweden, Greece, Argentina, Ukraine and Serbia. We also heard their versions of very recognisable pieces such as Satie's Gnossienne and Corelli's Christmas Concerto. Particularly charming was their arrangement of In the Bleak Midwinter. The programme led us through a variety of emotions including sadness, wistfulness, happiness and comedy and left us feeling very upbeat as we made our way home. All three musicians were friendly and even socialised with the audience during the interval and at the end of the performance. Indeed there seemed to be an especially convivial atmosphere during the interval - almost party-like and I felt rather churlish herding you all back into the church for the second half. Our 2025 season will start in March. I hope to see some of you at the first concert. Joan, Secretary, Luton Music.
