We are excited to announce the visit of the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire , Bav Shah, and Annie Brewster JP, High Sheriff of Hertfordshire to the Walled Garden on the morning of Wednesday 28th August.
Luton Hoo Estate sits in an enviable position where both counties meet, and the Walled Garden Project is able not only to attract volunteers from Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire but also provide a much-loved historic visitor garden, with open Wednesdays and event days as well as fund raising partnership days and community engagement to both counties.
Whether you are from Herts/Beds or beyond, why not join us? - the garden will be operating as usual and entrance (£7.50) includes a fascinating tour of this wonder Capability Brown designed Walled Garden and its unique service buildings.
Entrance price is for all day - between 10.30 and 4 - The Woodyard will be open for delicious hot and cold drinks, snacks, light lunches and treats. What a lovely way to spend a Wednesday!
Tomorrow is Open Wednesday here at the Walled Garden. The garden is flourishing under the careful eye of our Head Gardner and the gardening team of the Volunteer Project. So much has changed since the project began over 23 years ago. This year has seen the addition of a weathervane, once resplendent on the Mackenzie and Moncur glass house, and now looking on from a plinth in the garden. There is plenty of seating and places to pause for thought and the garden shop will be open to take something home from the garden. Break your visit at the Woodyard Bistro for something delicious, and what a Wednesday!

The garden is glorious, so pop by and take a little time out to replenish your batteries. The garden is a haven of tranquillity, abundant with flowers and positively packed with colour. Take some time to smell the roses this Wednesday. No need to pre book, pay at the garden gate. There is adjacent parking, WC, and disabled facilities close bay and a large This Friday is the Bughunt here at the Walled Garden, Luton Hoo Estate. We can’t wait to welcome you to the wonderful Walled Garden where parking is free and entrance is only £5 per child and £2 per child, with under 2/s and carers Free. (10.30am - 1pm) This unique space will be full of outdoor crafty fun with a creepy crawly theme. No need to pre-book - pay at the garden gate! Most of the garden and its service buildings are accessible by wheelchair (although some grassy pathways). Entrance is valid all day and includes a fascinating tour of the garden. This Sunday is our Summer Market Estate Day - There is something for everyone at Luton Hoo Estate so pop by where entrance is free and parking only £2. Spend some time (and a little money) at the market which is indoor and outdoor at the conservatory - stroll around the Capability Brown Walled Garden (not usually open at the weekend) have something delicious to eat and drink at one of the stalls or at the Woodyard Coffee Shop - listen to the live band or have some fun on the bouncy slide and carousel - That's Sunday sorted!
