Top 5 photos of 2023 📸

Throughout this past year, I have had so many great opportunities to photograph a variety of interesting and exciting subjects. I want to thank all the wonderful people who I have been able to work with this year including Crescent Liverpool, New Age Fundraiser and the University of Leeds.

2023 has felt like the first year of my professional photography career and I’m very excited to see where 2024 is going to take me!

I’ve learnt a lot about photography over the past 6 years, but these are the 3 most important lessons that I would love to go back and tell myself when I was first starting out.

1. Learn the rules, then break them!
Knowing the basics of composition, lighting, and lenses is important, but learning when to trust your gut and experiment is crucial for creativity.

2. Start small, dream big
It can be tempting when you start learning photography, to feel the need to go out and buy as much gear as possible. But you’d be amazed at the quality of images you can produce with a phone or the most basic camera.

3. Everyday is a school day
Not a day goes by where I don’t learn something new about image making. With developments in AI, camera technology and new equipment, you will never know everything about this massive industry - and that’s okay!
