Police are advising motorists to only travel on the county's roads if it is absolutely necessary to do so due to heavy rainfall, standing water and flooding.
We've received numerous reports today of flooding in the Tewkesbury, Cheltenham and Gloucester areas and there is more heavy rainfall forecast across Gloucestershire throughout the night and over the weekend.
If you do need to travel, then please allow yourself extra time to reach your destination. Keep plenty of distance between yourself and the vehicle in front as stopping distances will be at least double those required for stopping on dry roads and visibility will also be reduced.
Motorists are also advised not to drive through flood water when it is unknown how deep it is and to find alternative routes instead.
We're expecting to have an increase in demand for our services so please remember to only call 999 in an emergency or where there is risk to life. Don't forget that you can report non-emergencies by visiting our website at https://orlo.uk/KvU6h or calling us on 101.
