We have tried for the last two years to collect and even pick unused fruit from gardens in Everton. This then goes to community groups. This year we're doing it again but have become part of the parish wide greening event. Come and see us, tell us if you or a neighbour have spare fruit on trees, let us know if you can collect it for us! Tons are wasted every year....
Also we are going to have exciting news for Everton gardeners and would be gardeners soon for 2025.
The greening campaign is about how a small change by everyone can save tens of tonnes of carbon in our community every year, please take a moment to consider if you would like to take part, it's fun, helps our environment and anyone can make a difference!

Following a report that some enterprising chaps were buying and selling in the pavilion car park on the 10/5/24 we have submitted a report to the police and also shared our CCTV of the whole incident with them.
Whilst we support local businesses and initiatives any illegal or antisocial activity gets reported. If you see anything going on please always get in touch with the date and time so we can check what's going on. CCTV was installed partly for this reason and we are determined to keep the rec and pavilion a safe, pleasant corner of the village for all residents. The police do taker an interest in unusual activity and vehicles involved.
Police response is "We understand that sometimes it isn’t possible to report incidents exactly as they are happening as you may only have become aware after it has occurred. In most cases like this we will not need to send officers. We will however still make a report, as it’s possible that some of our other teams like neighbourhood policing or intelligence might need to be made aware. These teams look at patterns in our reports and can share these with our response officers during their daily briefings so everyone is kept updated and officers know what to look out for."

Don't let dogs off the lead in car park please!!!
Had to clean up dog poo about 5 yards from the poo bags and next to the kids play area and bin. Small to medium sized dog. I can't believe this is deliberate, please don't let dogs run into the recreation ground alone when in car park!

27/04/2024

Please watch your dog! We had to ask a gent to clean up after his dog which was not being watched because "he usually poos over there". Just because you think you know your dogs habits, doesn't mean they won't poo when you're not watching! There's no excuse....💩🛍️

27/04/2024

Emergency poo bag dispenser has been moved to the patio railings. Much better CCTV coverage to hopefully stop the theft of all the bags in one go. It's supposed to be for people who have accidentally found themselves bagless!

25/04/2024

Apologies but the car park at the pavilion will be closed on Thursday the 2nd of May for line painting during the day. Hopefully having designated parking bays will help make the most of the space available in future. The recreation ground will remain open but access via greenmead avenue may be easier than from frys lane.

09/04/2024

We would like to apologise to anyone affected by our hirers, evening of 8th April. We are looking into breaches of hire conditions and will take any action necessary as we do constantly try to preserve good relationships with our neighbours as well as being available for community events and groups.

Coming to the pavilion in November! Save the date.....

22/08/2023

Thankyou to all who attended our AGM on Monday including our refreshment lady, Sheila. We continue to be self sufficient and continue to improve and maintain the pavilion for residents of Everton. We were sad to see Jackie retire as secretary after over 20 years on the committee and also lose Jenny. We did have a new committee member joining us, welcome Barry! We still need a new treasurer and secretary now and there's space on the committee for regular hirers to join us. We also have spaces in the timetable for new groups to hire us on a regular basis....

A few finishing touches and a good clean but we did it! Kitchen ready for hirers today after 7 days solid graft. Thanks to Richard Thomas carpentry, Howdens, All Aspect flooring, J P Plumbing and Heating, Darren Jones Building CEF Electrical and New Forest District Council who awarded a grant for 1/3 of the cost. Last but not least well done Lucy our cleaner for her tolerance and Linda Sears for doing an inventory and sort out of equipment. We are also adding equipment so it's an equipped kitchen.

We're gearing up for the new kitchen, thanks to a grant from NFDC to top up our savings

16/07/2023

Our AGM is at 11am on the 21st of August. We are going to lose our secretary and Linda was only ever supposed to be a caretaker treasurer while we modernised our bank account and accounting. We also lack a vice chairman. Whilst historically I would expect these positions to probably be filled by existing committee members we also have a vacancy for a hiring committee member. We ideally have at least 4 hirers on the committee to represent the interests of pavilion users, currently we have 3. If you would like to come on board then let me know, we meet every 2 months for an hour or two to chat about what's been done and what needs doing so 5 meetings a year plus the AGM. You will have to become a trustee of the charity so will be registered with the charity commission (there's a few requirements regarding criminal records and bankruptcy). We try to be light hearted, we'd welcome you if you want to help and can answer any questions before you commit to anything.

Following the incident at the pavilion (and CCTV helping us get the person's responsible to pay for a new wooden fence) we have worked with hordle parish council to upgrade the fence to metal railings. Please remember the car park is for rec and pavilion users and is locked at night!

It appears the car that destroyed the pavilion fence ignored the users only signs and when they got locked in at night thought it was ok to just drive through the fence. We have CCTV so if it was you please come forward to pay for the fence before we pass the car details to the police....

11/06/2023

Strange goings on, fence demolished by a car early hours Saturday morning. If anyone has CCTV of a white fiesta between 00.45 and 1.15 near the pavilion we'd like to hear from you. This seems deliberate as there's plenty of obstacles between the fence and Fry's lane!

05/06/2023

All good, earth in rec is from parish council for wildflowers, good to know residents are keeping an eye open though

Please.... If you let your dog out of the car, off lead, could you keep an eye on it. Big pile of poo today in the parking area and often poo in rec just round the corner out of site from the car it's arrived in while owner locks up etc. Let's stop dog poo in public areas

30/04/2023

Today we asked a lady to remove her dog from the little children's play area. She told the child with her "the man says I have to go outside the fence". The man did say this but if you break the rules please don't blame someone else! Dogs have the whole of the rec to use, it's not a right; it's a generous gift and all that is asked is a small fenced off area remains dog free for safe, hygienic use by small children. I'm a dog owner and I hate to see others giving dogs a bad name so please respect the rules and allow dog owners to continue to be allowed in the rest of the recreation ground
