Wow what a year, looking back I can’t believe how much we achieved as a team and how many flowers came through our hands, over 75 bridal bouquets, hundreds of bridesmaid bouquets, buttonholes, table centrepieces not to mention arches, aisle runners and hanging installations. It’s not until you look back you wonder how on earth we managed it but we did. This is really just a small selection of what we were up to but please be sure to watch to the end! The last of my Christmas wreath making workshops happened at the weekend attended by such a lovely group of people including friends, families, couples, ex brides (and groom) and a bride to be. All I hope had a fun afternoon, maybe learned new skills and certainly all made some beautiful pieces for doors. I was so impressed with everyone this year. My wonderful masterchef friend Julie from @kentcooking once again baked a fabulous selection of fresh home made goodies including brownies, shortbread biscuits, mincemeat crumbles and perfect sausage rolls especially for us, which goes without saying were second to none! Absolutely No shop bought mince pies here! I was also super lucky to have a glamorous assistant in the form of my lovely friend Claire who did a Stirling job of pouring mulled wine and clearing up after us all, and boy is there a lot to clear up. She also produced this little video of the day! That’s really multi-skilling and she was rewarded with the demonstration wreath which now has a new home on her door in Dorset. So our wedding season is beginning to wind its way slowly down to something a little quieter and more sedate but we had the pleasure of yet another beautiful autumn weekend of weddings. This amazing day happened yesterday @nettlesteadplace a stunning venue on our doorstep that we know and love well. We’re back to decorate there again next week so watch this space! Well today was a good day!! Another terrific show case, hosted by @hever_castleweddings was crammed full of gorgeous, engaged couples and their families, beautifully organised, the very best of the best wedding suppliers (who are also by the way, lovely people) and I can’t recommend highly enough, such a super positive vibe!! Really noticed the buzz of excitement today and the time just flew by. What a fabulous venue, you can’t fail to be impressed! Prices are not something florists like to talk about, because frankly each of us are slightly different with what we use and what overheads we have and no two of us will ever quote the same. We often need to have lots of details before we can give you an accurate price. Well this was not the weather we ordered for today’s wedding! What a day!! Much better suited to ducks and they were loving it 🦆 It can be so disappointing when this happens but we all know it’s a possibility and just beyond our control. It’s so important to remember that a wedding is about so much more than a sunny day. Some even say it’s lucky! It’s my 26th anniversary today and it rained a bit on mine too so maybe there’s some truth in that? Natural bo ho flavour to this wedding @thegardensyalding the other day. Soft neutral tones and a touch of pampas throughout, we especially enjoyed these natural tablescapes down the full length of the guest tables. As well as fun to make it’s an opportunity to be creative with texture and design, giving something interesting and beautiful for guests to look at. When I went to collect my small items the next day not a single flower was left so I hope they were all taken home and enjoyed by guests well into the next week!
