Friday fun. This image was taken on the farm in Hollingbourne and shows a bean plant covered with just a few black aphids. Ladybirds are the best aphid pest controllers. We thought we should ask for caption suggestions, but we feel 'Lunch Break', is a good one.

Rehearsals for this year's Changeling Theatre Summer Tour are well underway. Similar to last year, two dates have been booked with a different production for each performance. Saturday 28th July - Henry V by William Shakespeare and Sunday 27th July - Present Laughter by Noel Coward. Both productions Directed by Robert Forknall and we expect the usual twist of humour.

Today we opened the doors to the cobbled stables for the 'Craft Event' for three days only! The Pilgrims Way Artists Summer Exhibition 2024 is still on in the main part of the Tithe Barn and ends on Monday 27th May at 3pm. Come and take a look around, free admission, free parking, and a refreshments tent.

We wish Lenham Family Festival team well in organising this year's community festival. All proceeds will be going towards the work of Demelza, in memory of our friend Jill Hatcher and her part in previous festivals.

We really do appreciate the good dog owners out there who do ‘bag it & bin it’ whilst walking through Court Lodge Meadow. As we now have young livestock in the meadow it is even more important that dog poo is not left on the grass as these calves could eat it or the grass around it. These calves could in the future produce milk or become a roast dinner.

Visit Lenham during the Pilgrims Way Artists Summer Exhibition 2024 10am to 5pm, which finishes on Monday 27th May. Free parking and a refreshment tent selling homemade cakes. There’s also a special craft event from 24th to 26th May, in the cobbled end of the Tithe Barn next to the main exhibition.

We have to say a big thank you to our neighbour for making lots of beautiful bunting for use around the barn. Judy is pictured here with the coronation bunting she did last year. Since then Judy has made lots more for the barn due to a lady in the village giving away unwanted material, a great recycling project!

This Friday Pilgrims Way Artists Summer Exhibition 2024 opens! 10am to 5pm and parking is available behind the Tithe Barn, enter via the High Street, Court Lodge entrance gate/drive way next to the Fire Station. We're also looking forward to visiting the refreshment tent and the homemade cakes.

This is how the 2023 exhibition looked last year. Soon, a week tomorrow, it will be the opening of Pilgrims Way Artists Summer Exhibition 2024 We wonder what delights will be in store this year. 10 days, from Friday 17th May, to visit the Tithe Barn and view some incredible art. Parking and refreshments will be available. Vehicles to enter via Court Lodge entrance gate off the High Street by the Fire Station and Social Club.

Changeling Theatre tour of Kent starts soon and we look forward to this year's production, enjoy their twist on William Shakespeare's Henry V.
Saturday 27th July, 7.30pm, on the meadow behind the Tithe Barn. Bring your picnic and enjoy the evenings entertainment.

“We few, we happy few, we band of brothers”

A young superstar King has ascended the English throne. When his advisors tell him the French throne is rightfully his too, Henry falls for their persuasion. An insult from the Dauphin – heir to the French throne – is enough to trigger Henry, who gathers a mighty fleet and invades France.

After defeating the French at Harfleur and Agincourt, the young King makes the old King of France swear to hand the throne to him on his death, making him King of both countries. To seal the deal he marries the old King’s daughter, Princess Katherine.

Based on the events of the Hundred Years’ War, Henry V is much more than a historical documentary. It is a play about the merits of war, set against the moral and personal cost of conflict. Directed by Rob Forknall and brought to you by the same creative team from last year’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, this production takes its design cues from the game of chess, and promises to be a visual treat, full of action and intrigue.

Green Room Concerts have just announced the opening act for their three day Music Festival - Strictly Ellington. Friday August 30, tickets are available online now. See link below.
