Feeling sad 🥹

Well that’s both our amazing girls Katie & Megan finished and off to college. There is so much I could say about these girls but to save the mushy embarrassment for them 😝 let me just say I honestly could not of managed this season without them keeping Betty Bloom open everyday❤️

It’s not easy letting go & handing over something you are so passionate about to someone else to look after for you, they are leading your name/brand and become the face of your business. Katie and Megan just honestly felt right from day one. So bloody lucky. Really going to miss them 🥹 Good luck girls! Thank you for everything and please come back next year😭🤣❤️

Which means…. The one man band is back 🙋🏼‍♀️ (well nearly) I have the lovely Lorna back again this year helping me out for the last few weeks of the season which is such a massive help! 🙌🏼 😍 the steam train catering continues behind the scenes 7 days a week too BUT there are now days I can’t staff the horsebox around big catering bookings e.g this Friday & Saturday (20th & 21st) I will have to CLOSE the horsebox 🥲

Big sad… but open again from Sunday as normal and that means double the breakfast pies to get through so win win for you really👀🤣🥧

Today I delivered 17 buffet platters for DYW West Highland for a fantastic event they hosted at Lochaber High School.

This large buffet included a wide variety of food from mixed sandwiches, quiche, chicken drumsticks, pork pies to feta & pomegranate salads, cheese/charcuterie and finished perfectly with bite size mixed traybakes from 🙌🏼

Before this it was an early start for 50x afternoon teas for the Jacobite steam train this morning🚂💃🏼 this gorgeous sunshine sure helps on a long busy day😍☀️

The idea of this is to give your event a unique dining experience, to give your guests a fun little activity and most importantly plenty variety meaning they can choose exactly what they want to eat.

Perfect as a canapé option with welcome drinks, any sort of garden party outdoors or seasonal event indoors.

Home from deliveries and now beginning the initial preparation for this week’s catering jobs. It’s a really busy week for me (possibly the biggest I’ve done actually 😅) so the days leading up to events are crucial to ensure everything’s lined up on the right days including packaging, stock orders, fresh fruit/veg, steam train deliveries, horsebox stock, private orders and then everything for the event itself.

All of this week’s catering jobs have added cutlery/napkins & plates for easy & fast clean up at their event. This is one thing that’s fantastic about graze boxes or grazing tables. Each requires minimal effort on clean up, after feeding 100+ guests you just pull that grease proof sheet base straight into the bin! All of our plates/bowls are recycled bamboo and our boxes are cardboard so everything goes straight into recycling ♻️

Great option when dish washing facilities are not an option at your event💃🏼

Beautiful day for a mish-mash of biz ☀️ I’ve noticed every time I leave Mallaig even for an hour I turn it into some sort of Man- Vs- Food challenge. I did pack myself a tasty little packed lunch for the way home but I also smashed a seafood roll and far too much cake from an honesty box which has pretty much made my day as I roll back onto the ferry home 🤣⛴️ Anyway speaking of which…

Fat Friday tomorrow people! Is it too sunny for breakfast pies?? 🤷‍♀️I don’t know but they will be in. So come for the Friday goods from 09:30💃🏼 See you in the morning!

The details…✨

This amazing bride & groom gave me free rein on Saturday’s wedding meal and I offered a ‘flat lay’ grazing table with a combination of vegetarian & vegan included. I must admit I love it when I’m trusted to do my own thing with these 🙌🏼 I could never list every item but in general it goes from cheeses, charcuterie, breads, crackers to fruits, dips, veggies and let’s be honest we need a serious amount of beige in there, can’t go wrong with quiches, sausage rolls & stuffed ciabattas just to name a few to soak up that fizz 🥂

This took just under two hours to create, disposable bamboo cutlery & plates can be added where crockery isn’t available and the other fantastic thing about these grazing tables is there is no clean up- you literally slide the entire greaseproof base into the bin, job done 👌🏼

This location was STUNNING it gave private (but grand) sunshine outdoors (but cosy woodland too) genuinely such a diverse feel for all seasons I imagine 😍

Happy hump-day!🐪

I messed up my own rota today 🤦🏼‍♀️so basically had to jump down and open up the horsebox quickly (luckily I’d finished my orders & the steam train already🙏🏼) but I was in my swimsuit ready to take Lily swimming after deliveries and forgot to get changed when I ran out the door so now I’m stuck in the horsebox for the day in my speedo and I can’t stop laughing 🏊‍♀️🤣🤣

Anywho! Lots of sandwiches, croissants and cakes to choose from as well as sausage rolls/steak bakes and afternoon teas 🥰

So if you’d like a coffee and a cheap rendition of Baywatch come see me! Hahaha

SO many goodies in the Horsebox! I think I’m going to start pitching the grazeboxes less about picnics on the beach 🧺 to grazeboxes with a bottle of wine in front of the fire 🍷Equally delish scenarios👌🏼JUST MAYBE NOT IN AUGUST👀🤣

MIA yesterday as we managed a very rare morning off as I left a trail of post it notes and instructions full of highlighter pens behind me🙈🤣 we blocked off one of our campervans a while ago to try out campsite for a wee birthday night away (essential research for Great Glen Campers obviously)🤣🤣- IMAGINE. A campsite with a SPA!🥹🧖‍♀️ enough said.
Ate the best gnocchi of my life, inhaled a bottle of picpoul, splashed around the infinity pool like an otter 🦦 drove the longest way home and purchased coffee, cakes, cheese and pies from every shop I passed along the way 🤷‍♀️ truly the best way to Brogans heart if I’m honest, a truly fat happy carb filled gal.
