Blast Event Hire is delighted to announce the acquisition of Richardson Event Hire, formally known as Cotswold Event Hire.

Based in the heart of the Cotswolds, Richardson Event Hire (REH), has established a fantastic reputation over the past 13 years for its premium quality tableware, furniture, equipment and the level of service it offers each and every one of its clients.

Josh Hignell, Director of Blast Event Hire, is excited to take this next step as part of an exciting growth and development strategy. A neighbouring delivery radius, similar stock inventory and shared set of values has made the acquisition a logical step for Blast. Blast have been looking to expand its Bristol based operation further north throughout The Cotswolds, encompassing some of the finest venues The Cotswolds has to offer, for some time.

This is a fantastic opportunity to increase the range of products Blast offers, not only to its existing clients but also to numerous new caterers, venue’s and individuals throughout the region.

We would like to assure both BEH & REH current customers there will be no change to the high level of service, product offering or transport logistics that they enjoy currently. The only notable difference they will see is an increased stock level and the introduction of some exciting new ranges and products.

Isla and Steve from REH will be on hand for a while to ensure a smooth transition for their customers. “We are absolutely delighted that Blast Event Hire will be taking REH on the next stage of its journey. Josh is full of energy and enthusiasm and will undoubtedly continue to drive the business forward with new products and innovations. Steve and I would like to say a huge thank you to all our customers, staff and suppliers for working with us over the last few years. It’s time for us to head back to Colchester, but we’re confident that our customers will be in safe hands with Josh and the Blast team, and we wish them every success in the future.”

Winter weddings can be absolutely magical. Go for either crisp white for a frosty look or be bold with the richness of red, green and gold. Foliage, berries, fairy lights and candles create a warm and welcoming tablescape, and you can be comfortably tucked up inside without worrying about the weather.

A big thank you to Sarah for this month’s recipe. Chocolate Salami - guaranteed to get you in the Christmas spirit!

INGREDIENTS
250g dark chocolate
250g crunchy biscuits
100g unsalted butter, softened
150g caster sugar
3 eggs
2 tbsp liqueur of your choice (optional)
2 tbsp cocoa
200g nuts and mixed fruit

METHOD
Melt the chocolate until smooth. Put the biscuits into a large freezer bag, seal and bash with a rolling pin into small chunks.
Cream the butter and sugar together. Gradually beat in the eggs, then the liqueur.

Sieve the cocoa into the cooled chocolate, stir ‘til combined, then beat this into the egg mixture.

Tip in the fruit, nuts & biscuits and stir well to ensure everything is covered in chocolate. Transfer the mixture, still in its bowl, to the fridge to firm up a bit for 20-30 minutes. Don’t leave it for much longer or it will be difficult to remove and shape.

Cut 2 large pieces of cling film, overlap them and lay them flat. Tip the chocolate mixture on to the middle of the cling film and mould the mixture into a fat log.

Cover the chocolate log completely with the cling film, and roll it up firmly. Twist the ends by grasping both ends of the cling film and rolling the sausage-log towards you several times. Put it in the fridge to set.

As an established hire company, our aim is to assist you every step of the way as you plan and deliver the perfect event. Whether you’re having a few friends round for dinner or organising a wedding for hundreds of guests, we can help.

We supply premium quality tableware and equipment, with both luxury and cost-effective options for all types of events and venues. Our clients range from caterers and event planners to hotels, pubs, venues and private individuals and we’ve established long-standing relationships with many of them.

All of our crockery, cutlery and glassware is hand-washed to remove stubborn stains such as lipstick, before being washed in an industrial dishwasher at high temperatures using ‘reverse osmosis’ water to eliminate water marks and give an exceptional finish.

Our catering equipment is thoroughly cleaned and tested every time it’s hired, and gas appliances are tested on site at the point of delivery. All electrical equipment is PAT tested and gas equipment is certified annually by a gas safe engineer.
