With all the bad press that's been going on over the last few weeks in the women's Olympic boxing, which could have been avoided by the IOC, is this just another nail in the coffin for Olympic amateur boxing?

As reported by The Times , Emil Gurbanaliyev and Sergei Krutasov were both stood down in 2021 but were selected by the Paris Boxing Unit to be involved as technical officials at the Games.

Kudos to Italy's Angela Carini who quit after 46 seconds of this morning's bout. Carini refused to shake Khelif's hand after the decision was announced, and she cried in the ring before leaving, her Olympic dream has been snatched away by every Olympic official who played apart in letting a supposedly trans boxer take part. Hang your head in shame.

This morning Angela Carini will face a supposedly trans opponent who was previously banned from competing in the World Championships for having XY chromosomes which they stated "Would give her an unfair advantage over her female born opponent" The Olympics have a different view 🤬
Question, as a coach would you withdraw your boxer from this bout? Remembering that they have trained and competed for years building up to this moment. This for me is an accident waiting to happen.

are having their annual awards tonight and it's great to see all the good work that gets recognised. But even better let's give a shout out to the hundreds of officials and thousands of coaches that won't get a mention tonight. Who keep our sport running on the ground week in, week out. You all do a great job, you don't just coach/officiate boxing, you create memories and life experiences that will be remembered in the many years to come 👏👏👏

Well what a weekend, nice to finally sit down and let it sink in. Firstly we would like to say a massive thanks to all the officials for showcasing the Northwest and Merseyside areas officiating talent. Thanks to Dr Ashley and the rest of the medical team for taking care of the boxers. Big respect to all the clubs from around UK, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Holland you have some real boxing talent in your clubs. Thanks to our two MC's 'I bet you'll be hearing the words "The Manchester Box Cup" in your sleep. Finally a big thanks to all the boxers who again displayed some top talent and some great sportsmanship and sportswonanship, you really are a credit to your clubs, amateur boxing is seriously in great hands 👏👏👏 Hope to see you all again in 2025, with an evening bigger and better event, we have some exciting times ahead in 2025, big plans fir the future. lent
