Here`s my competition entry mix for Manchester's new Melodic House & Techno club night. I`m hoping to get the pleasure of doing the warmup mix for the inaugural club night at Gorilla Manchester
I`ve enjoyed putting this one together as it's a break from my norm of mixing journeyman-style sets with a bit of everything in terms of tempo and energy, and takes me out of my comfort zone, to create a single-genre warm-up type mix. I love a bit of Melodic so it's nice to be able to mix a set dedicated to the genre.
Win or lose the competition, I`m really looking forward to this club night as it's aiming to establish something I`ve longed for in Manchester for quite a while - a decent Melodic house and Techno scene.

OK, it's nearly 2 weeks into the new year, so a little late, but it's still important to reflect on the year past to allow us to see what we've done so we can look forward to the new year. With this in mind, I`ve compiled the best tracks from my mixes in 2023. It's been an arduous task whittling down over 300 tracks, I was aiming for 40, but with so much good music it's hard to leave out any belters, so it's going to be more like 60.
This time I`m going to challenge myself and avoid the usual curation and setting of all the cuepoints which almost becomes more like production than DJing. Instead, I`m going to try and mix this one on the fly, so should be interesting.

So after quite a long unplanned hiatus from the Fitzcast due to the small matter of organising a rave and djing at it for my 40th, and putting together a set for a podcast series, the time has come for the next Fitzcast.
I had planned one for late September/early October bought the tracks curated the playlist and mixed it, but unfortunately, it didn't work for me. Sometimes you can have a playlist with great individual tracks, but they can't go together in a coherent flowing mix. This was one of those occasions, and I`d rather not put out something I`m not 100% happy with, hence the absence.
Anyway, that's the past, onwards, and upwards now with my next edition of the Fitzcast.
I really enjoyed putting this one together as I was able to get a nice flow with some great new tracks.
