A bucket full of British flowers grown in Manchester by me. Working strictly seasonal is difficult as I’ve been very quiet on the flower front for a while but the foxgloves are real show stoppers which is a welcome distraction while we wait for the rest.

These are for to go in her vases for a month long exhibition at .wine come by the launch tonight which starts at 7pm. Can’t wait for a Pet Nat wine to start the sunny weekend.

I managed to grow one perfect ranunculus before the plant gave up on me. It’s an improvement from last year but makes me all the more determined to grow them successfully next time around.

If any growers have some tips please let me know because I need lots of these ruffled flowers ☁️

The colour has arrived | These beautiful tulips went to but there will be plenty more where they came from as I’m doing my first ever market with at Kampus this Sunday. It’s a bit of a last minute plan but when the flowers are ready to go you’ve gotta obey, they have their own schedule.

It’s also Earth Day today which is a good opportunity to tell you about British flowers. These flowers are grown by myself using no chemicals or pesticides, they’ve not been flown across the world or grown in heated greenhouses. It’s about time we thought of our planet and consider our impact, so if you want local and seasonal flowers you know where to find me, I’ll be there 11.30-4.30 🤙

Deciding on my final dahlias this Saturday while I’m in isolation. Will I change my mind several times? Yep. Will I shamelessly over order? You bet.

This is a near impossible task
for me, my space to grow is so small that every dahlia has to be worth it’s weight in productivity. This beauty was my most prolific dahlia and helped me be able to sell my flowers for the first time.

The most satisfying sight | Last year I only planted tulips in pots and didn’t have many at all compared to this year, I think I roughly have 1,000 bulbs of tulips and daffodils eeek.

Tulips can be planted close together as long as they’re not touching, then I’ll lift the bulb to get the best stem length and treat them as annuals.

The first frost happened last night and all of a sudden it’s November. I love the garden in autumn, there’s a mixture of architectural dried dill, a few zinnias doing their thing and luscious foliage from the roses.

Today also marks the day the last box of bulbs arrived so I’ll be planting them this weekend, currently planning where everything will go and pot displays.
