The Preschool children have taken on the role of paleontologists as they learnt all about fossils!
The children learnt that there are 2 different main types of fossils: body fossils - what is left of the animal, footprints and tracks on surfaces or evidence of nests.
Once the children joined in with a learning board, and talked about the patterns in the fossils, specifically the ammonite.
The children then moved over to a tuff tray to create their own ammonite fossils. Focusing their attention on their mathematical skills and pattern using natural items making links to local artist Andy Goldsworthy, who the children are already familiar with from a previous autumn topic.
