Natalie George Founder of the FDA - Female DeeJay Association watch that page for info on workshops and events!
Natalie George is the former owner of The Gallery and continues to be the matriarch of The Gallery family.
She supported artists of all kinds since The Gallery opened in 2019 by providing a hub and a platform which Burnley had for too long lacked.
During the first lockdown unable to sit twiddling her thumbs Natalie cut her teeth on the Technic 1210s, supported and encouraged by many of The Gallery DJs since then she has explored digital platforms used by many modern DJs, ensuring her adaptability.
When The Gallery reopened she became the house DJ,
Spinning anything from Disco to Chicago House, Funk and Soul grooves to Hip Hop, Old Skool and, Techno. Her beats are guaranteed to sooth your soul and have you running to the dance floor.
Natalie also gained experience outside her own venue playing at The Royal Dyche, Penny Blacks, even as far afield as London and most recently the mighty Beatherder. She started to realise that the road is not always smooth for a female DJ and believed the need for an association to empower women already behind the decks and encourage those wanting to try;
βThe FDA hopes to help redress the balance, providing a safe space for female and those female identified music lovers to showcase their craft and also share their skills with other women and girls in a female dominated environment which will hopefully lead to empowering women and young women DJs new and seasoned."
Our first event was a huge success with 6 DJS ranging in age from 17 to 60 playing a diverse range of genres and styles.
