Have signed up for the BBC Music Introducing OurHouseYourHouse The Blues Kitchen - Manchester open decks night on October 10th!! You get put into a raffle when you arrive and if you are picked you get 15 mins to work your magic. No guarantee I’m going to play but excited nevertheless 😆 I think there are 2 CDJs and I don’t want to divert from my style so going to have to work on a routine that still allows me to remix live while leaving time to load the next track… 😬

Came across this event in Manchester….It seems to be an open invite, don’t need to submit a mix now, just turn up on the day. Doesn’t say how long you get and no idea whether there’ll be loads of people turning up. Thinking of showing up early with my USB and playing it by ear. Anyone come across a BBC introducing event before? If so what’s the vibe?

A blast from the past. Was sent this photo recently by my mates also in the picture. This is me in 2003 in Ko Tao on a beach club. Took a single box of records from the UK - never let them out of my sight - would you like to check them in sir? Nope. Long boat ride from the mainland Thailand to the islands in the midday sun, me sweating but using my shadow to keep them out of the heat 😂 Lived there for months with the odd trip back to Bangkok to the only record shop to try and freshen up my sets. I love DJing and that’s the thing with something you are passionate about….you might not be able to do it all the time, you might have to go away from it for a little while… in my case went away from it for about 15 years when life got in the way…but it will always find a way back into your life…and if it makes you happy then find a way to keep on doing it. Happy Friday everyone x
