🎭 OFF THE STAGE: THE WORKSHOP - ROUND 2 🎭

Due to popular demand, we’re excited to announce another round of our technical theatre workshops at Gorse Hill Studios, facilitated by the amazing Philip Harland!

Philip, a seasoned Theatre Technician and facilitator brings his extensive experience with youth and community theatre groups to help you develop your technical theatre skills. Whether it’s lighting, sound, or QLab, Philip’s engaging games, exercises, and hands-on learning will guide you every step of the way.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone 16 and older who wants to upskill and dive deeper into the world of technical theatre!

📅 Sessions begin the week commencing the 30th of September, for three weeks. Monday daytime and Friday Evenings
🕒 Group 1: Mondays 2-4 PM 🕒 Group 2: Fridays 7-9 PM
📍 Location: Gorse Hill Studios

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead and support various youth work activities during the Summer HAF provision.
-Organise and lead sports, yoga, dance, boxing, and other movement-based sessions.
-Encourage participation and ensure activities are accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels.
-Confidently lead and support cooking sessions with enthusiasm.
-Teach young people about nutrition and healthy eating habits.
-Ensure all food preparation and cooking activities comply with health and safety standards.
-Plan and deliver creative workshops, encouraging creativity and self-expression among young people.
-Use various mediums such as art, music, and drama to engage participants.
-Check and manage food stock, ensuring proper rotation and storage.
-Prepare lunches, ensuring meals are nutritious and meet dietary requirements.
-Prepare shopping lists and conduct food shopping each week.
Coordinate with suppliers and manage the budget effectively.

About the role:
As a STEP Coordinator, you will be overseeing the day-to-day running and STEP programme development. Alongside the STEP team, an Arts based programme of activities/Sessions which will enable young people to develop their creativity, confidence, self-esteem and interpersonal skills.

GM Violence Reduction Unit, has chosen the Gorse Hill area to introduce a community lead approach to reducing violence in Gorse Hill.

We are inviting you to find out how you can be a part of this project, help build the picture of what are the priorities for the Gorse Hill area when it comes to reducing violence in the area, build a strong community based approach together so we can co-design and deliver positive solutions.

The afternoon will be:
◾ a chance to meet fellow Gorsillians
◾ find out more about the Gorse Hill Community Alliance
◾ share some food
◾ listen to some local artist and DJ’s
◾ help to build a visual map of priorities for Gorse Hill.
