We've some exciting news to share....

Last week we were honoured to win North West Wedding Venue of the Year! We're all absolutely over the moon....and still full joy!

The last 18 months have been challenging for all our couples and our team. It's been our absolute pleasure to support with plans for everyone's special day, and to come away at the end of the season with this accolade really does mean the world! 🌎

We know that people must be able to put their trust in a venue to help organise their special day. To be have been given that trust, especially over the last 18 months, is a huge honour, and we're so glad we could contribute to everyone's special day and help make some memories. ❤️❤️❤️

B A C K I N T H E B I S T R O…..
After 466 days of being closed, our beautiful old science library opened its doors once again yesterday for a lovely wedding ceremony and celebration…..484 days since we last hosted one on 29th February 2020!!

So lovely to have people back in the Bistro to create some special memories. Congratulations once again Andrew and Kamil! 🥂🍾

After a long 456 days…..we got to hold our first wedding on Sunday since February 2020.

The sun was beaming, the setting was beautiful in our Council Chamber and Museum, and it was great to be back making happy memories again.

All covid-secure, following current guidelines, it was lovely to finally be able to welcome people back into our venues for such a special day!

Congratulations once again to Alex and Catherine from all of our team!

S P O I L T F O R C H O I C E . . . .
It's not just the buildings in the Old Quadrangle that are great for wedding photos....you're spoilt for choice across the campus!

Here...the Samuel Alexander Building provides a striking backdrop!

Opened in 1919 to accommodate what was the Faculty of Arts, the neoclassic architecture, with marble white pillars, now houses the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures.

Stepping through the Queen's Arch and into the Old Quadrangle, you'll see the original buildings of Owens College - a predecessor of today's University.

The Quad, as it’s affectionately known, is made up of the John Owens Building, the Beyer Building, the Christie Building and Whitworth Hall.

Following the easing of lockdown restrictions, we got to come back to campus a couple of weeks ago....we've missed seeing all this! The Old Quadrangle looks stunning all year round, but you can't beat a bit of Manchester sunshine! ☀️ ☀️ 🌈

After touring the inside of our venues over the last couple of weeks, we couldn't not show you the beautiful architecture of the our buildings on campus....
....situated at the heart of the University campus on Oxford Road, all our venues are well connected by local transport, have parking nearby, and provide a great backdrop to your wedding photos!

The Whitworth Hall is a beautiful space for your celebrations throughout the day...

Seating up to 300 for a sit down meal, the hall really allows you to dine in style for your 1st meal as newly weds....before the room is turned around into a fantastic party venue to dance the night away!

A P L A C E O F H I S T O R Y. . . . .
We couldn't do our magnificent Whitworth Hall without going back to a bit of history and some black and white photos!

So as its - here's a couple from the archive!

Built between 1898 and 1902, and designed by Alfred Waterhouse to commemorate the Manchester engineer Joseph Whitworth, the hall is the location for all university degree ceremonies, along with other ceremonial events and occasions throughout the academic year....with a full scale organ, a beautiful stain glass window at the south end, and a hammer-beam timber roof - it really is an unique venue!

The beauty of a venue like Whitworth Hall is that it looks good no matter how it's setup - which means you have plenty of choices....
