With just one sleep to go until our first event of 2025, you can now see set times for both the basement and the pre-party.

Online tickets are still available in a limited capacity, we’ll be saving a few on the door too, cash or card accepted.

We’re kicking off the free pre-party at 7pm, if you’re out and about feel free to come join us for a pint and a catch up.

Two Days to Go ⏰

As we approach our return to this Saturday, we’ve got a brand new Rugcast from Manchester based DJ and long-term friend of the Rug, to warm you right up.

Opening proceedings in the basement this weekend, Jamie provides 90 minutes of mind-bending grooves, creating a hypnotic rhythm throughout, later developing into chunky house and up-tempo breaks as the mix develops.

Jamie lines up alongside our residents this Saturday for a pocket-friendly start to the year, with all tickets £5 through the link in our bio.

With just over a week go until we return to , we move onto our last resident

One of the founding members of the Rug, Cal’s music journey began back in uni with the student night LUEDMS back in the golden ages of tech/deep house.

A passion for partying led to getting behind the decks and after graduation Cut the Rug was formed with infamous Primrose Street party and the sold-out Lancaster party bus.

With a focus on the crowd and enjoyment, Cal’s high-energy selections have soundtracked basements around the North West and beyond for the last 8 years with peak time festival sets at Highest Point and our beloved Into the Woods festival closing the Terminal Stage after Oden & Fatzo and a set on the Cabin Stage sandwiched in between house music royalty Instinct & Prospa.

Sharing line-ups with the likes of Kepler, Casey Spillman, Lucas Alexander, Mehlor, Duowe, Nathan Pinder & more with his fellow Cut the Rug residnets, you’ll struggle to find anyone who’s done more hours behind the booth at Stage & Radio.

As we approach our first event of 2025 next Saturday at , we thought we’d use X’s Grok 2 AI to try create a few posters in the style of our favourite cartoons resulting in some very questionable faces and spelling above 😂😂

We hand over control to our residents all night long next week as we kick off the year in our favourite basement.

Part of Cut the Rug for the last 6 years, Dint Hulla has developed an electro-centric sound, focusing chunky basslines perfect for a North Manchester basement.

With appearances at UK Festivals, overseas in Budapest and every club on the Manchester Circuit supporting the likes of Instinct, Seb Zito, Sidney Charles, Kepler and many, Dint Hulla has become our go to member to up the pace and get the crowd moving.

With our first event of 2025 in just a a few weeks time, we thought we’d provide a bit of an insight into the team who make up Cut the Rug, starting with

With extensive experience behind the decks and a passion for production, RALLN began his music journey with LUEDMS in Lancaster back in 2016. The Cut the Rug & resident has supported industry heavyweights such as Voigtmann, Alec Falconer, Kepler and Alci, and has performed in some of the city’s most iconic venues including Joshua Brooks, Hidden, Stage & Radio and Ramona.

After crafting his sound over the past 6 years, 2024 saw some of RALLN’s minimal sound emerge onto Records with support from Romanian royalty Dragutesku, Mihai Pol, IULY.B and Crihan.

With some tasty label releases in store throughout 2025, RALLN’s sound covers a broad range of the underground, including house, minimal, electro, garage and breakbeats as his love for digging beats shows no bounds.

From start to finish the energy and happiness in the room felt like one big celebration and we couldn’t be prouder.

Massive thanks to .mcr for setting the pace before Kepler stepped up and delivered before going b2b with our residents for the last 2 hours.

Stuff like this is why we do it, so we’re absolutely made up.

Shoutout to the pre-party DJ’s for warming everyone up and the staff at the venue as always for making us so welcome.

This is your sign to secure you ticket for tomorrow 🎫

With just one day to go until our final event of the year as graces the holy ground of basement, we thought we’d show you all our lovely new sign and provide any last minute information ahead of tomorrow.

- There’s an extremely limited number of Second Release tickets remaining, these are the cheapest way to guarantee entry to the basement.

- Tickets will be available on the door, cash/card accepted, first come first serve, we hit capacity at 12.30 on the last event so get down early.

- Pre-party starts at 6pm, entry is free with no basement ticket needed, so pop in for a beer or two.

- Basement opens at 10pm, you must have a valid ticket in you me RA app to enter.

- Last entry 12.00 get down early and support the DJ’s and the venue, it makes all the difference.

- 18+ Please have photo ID on entry

As we enter event week, we thought we’d share set times for both floors nice and early.

We’ll be starting things off with a FREE pre-party in the bar from 6pm, no basement ticket needed for entry so feel free to pop down and join us for a few beers soundtracked by a line up of local talent if you’re out and about.
