***TELL ME ABOUT THAT PLANT***
Epiphyllum anguliger (fishbone cactus) - this is the one I most often suggest for people buying presents (I love it when you all buy houseplants as gifts) - it looks so unusual, with it's wibbly wobbly leaves but is so easy to look after. Just don't ask me to say it's Latin name.
Being able to tell you about our plants is the reason we're an in-person shop - we want you to choose exactly the right plant and get all the information you need about positioning and care to keep it happy and growing. We choose beautiful houseplants that are easy to look after, so you can grow your home jungle without the stress.
Our gorgeous shop is located in the Old Fire Station in Abbey Street, just off the high street in lovely Market Harborough. We are open Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm and Sunday, 11am to 3pm.
***TELL ME ABOUT THIS PLANT***
Part two of our very short series. This is another of my favourites (they all are), Peperomia Hope. I'll often gently suggest this for beginners, as it's such an easy plant. Just don't overwater!
Visit our gorgeous houseplant shop in Abbey Street, Market Harborough to chat plants, challenge me to tell you about your chosen plant, choose a pot or book on a workshop.
Open Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm and Sunday, 11am to 3pm.
***TELL ME ABOUT THAT PLANT***
Here's my whistle stop tour of everything you might want to know about Calathea Ornata (Pinstripe Calathea). Actually there's loads more you might want to know, but I can tell you when you stop by the shop to pick one up.
We are OPEN Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm and Sunday, 11am to 3pm - just check for any changes to our opening times.
Thanks to my video editor (also camera, content and middle child).

***PRE-LOVED HOUSEPLANTS***
Pop in today to rescue a beautiful houseplant. We're here until 3pm.
***ONE YEAR***
It's our shop anniversary - it's one year since we opened the doors to our gorgeous houseplant shop at the Old Fire Station in Abbey Street. It feels part "just a minute ago" and part "we've been here forever".
I wanted this shop to be a happy, welcoming, peaceful place where you could find the perfect houseplant and take it home, safe in the knowledge that you've got the best quality plant for a fair price and armed with the best information to keep your new plant friend healthy and growing. I really hope we've achieved that.
It's an absolute joy to meet you all - whether it's a payday treat, an unexpected discovery, a brilliant gift or another tick off the wishlist. I love the excited squeals as people walk past and find us for the first time. I feel so proud when you come back and tell me how well your plants have grown. You've been so patient with me insisting on naming your marimo moss pets.
It's coming up for our busy period and it would be brilliant if we could help you with your festive shopping. If you could tell everyone that you'd like windowsill gift vouchers that would be much appreciated. Thank you all beautiful plant people for reading and liking these posts, for signing up to our newsletter, for coming through the doors and buying plants - you're all my favourites.
***RE-POTTING***
There's been a bit of a run on our range of @soilninja's brilliant soils. In theory you can re-pot your houseplants at any time of the year but I like to follow some pattern of seasonality - for me April marks the start of the growing season, which end around October-time. We are therefore reaching that point in the year when I would suggest giving your houseplants a check over to identify if any would benefit from a re-pot, giving them time to settle in before the winter 'rest period'.
How, you might ask, can you tell if your plant friend needs re-potting? Why is there a bunch of different soils and how do you know which to use? Where do you start with a prickly cactus? I answer all these questions and more in our Re-potting workshop; we will also inevitably end up talking about watering too. These are running next week - Wednesday 27/09, afternoon session from 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 28/09, evening session from 6.00-8.00pm. You can book in-store or through our website (link in bio).
***THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOUSEPLANTS***
We always have beautiful houseplants, but sometimes they are really really special. Pop in to see this gorgeous Epipremnum Albo Variagata and think how you're going to get it home.
Open Saturday, 10am to 5pm & Sunday 11am to 3pm.
***SAVING A NEGLECTED FICUS***
I've been worrying about this plant since we moved into the street in November. It's obviously been neglected for a very long time. Last week I finally saw someone in there and ran across to liberate the plant. I'm hoping I can save it.
***HOUSEPLANT COURSES***
We've been promising this for a while and have finally developed our houseplant courses and workshops to turn you from black-thumbed plant killer to green-fingered houseplant hero.
First up: it's an honour and delight to have been invited by @charlotte.studioportobello to deliver an introduction to houseplants at her welcoming studio space near Chesham. Just look at what else is on.
You can book via the website: studioportobello.co.uk
We will be releasing dates for workshops at our Market Harborough shop soon. You can also message us to arrange in-house sessions or bespoke courses.
***BEAUTIFUL HOUSEPLANTS TO MAKE YOU HAPPY***
Our shelves are re-stoked and we are open Thursday to Saturday (10am to 5pm) and Sunday (11an to 3pm)
Find your new plant friend at The Old Fire Station, Abbey Street, Market Harborough
***RE-POTTING***
The books will tell you it's a bit early still for re-potting houseplants, but when your plants have grown out of their pots it's better to give them a new home sooner than forgetting to do it later.
We've got everything you need for the task, premium soil mixes and components from @soil.ninja. I offer a re-potting service if you are too nervous to tackle the job yourself and will be running a re-pot workshop to build confidence (look out of details coming soon) and re-pot sessions (again, look out for details or get in touch).
Our shop is open Thursday to Saturday (10am to 5pm) and Sunday (11am to 3pm).
