This year has been all change. I know I have been quiet lately but I’m finally getting back to social media and will be posting more often. I have a ton of content from all the wonderful events over the summer!

Coming up fast - Wilbarston Open Gardens! Even if gardens aren’t your thing, it’s free entry to the village hall where the bar will be open and there will be free live entertainment throughout the afternoon (Tommy Kelly with his guitar 1pm and 3pm, Hilary Miles 1.30pm, and Rebecca Witts and Ruth Huxley on the clarinet and harp 2pm and 4pm). Plus an art exhibition!
Plants will be for sale at the village hall, raising funds for Wilbarston Wildlife Group. Profits from garden ticket sales and teas and cakes are for Wilbarston All Saints Church.
Also, if the weather is dry, Glad Rags clothing sale will be on throughout the afternoon at Toad Hall, 28 Barlows Lane, along with model aircraft on display.
Have a go at bell ringing is available between 2pm and 3pm in the church with cameras in the belfry to see the bells moving and there will also be a local art sale and teas and cakes.
Hope you can all make it on the day to join in and enjoy this community event!

Some of you true fans 😜 may have noticed this pop up on my YouTube channel last week. I recorded this as reference for one of my students who is learning it but thought it was too pretty not to share! This is ‘Highland Mary’, words by Robert Burns, original melody by Katherine Ogie, and arranged by Kim Robertson. ‘Highland Mary’, as well as several other of Burns’ poems, was written about a woman named Mary Campbell, with whom he had a brief relationship of just a month. During that short time however, they exchanged bibles over the local stream (a traditional marriage custom in Scotland).
