Less than 2 weeks until our Christmas Concert. We have some beautiful choral works, including "On Christmas Night" by Bob Chilcott. We have 3 excellent soloists, sopranos Emma Pooley, who many of you will know, and Emma Watson (no, not that one!) and bass Simon Wells. We have our usual superb organist, Ian Crabbe. Tickets are £12 and available from Sound Knowledge in Hughenden Yard, online at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/marlborough-choral-society or on the door.
Do join us for what promises to be a lovely festive evening.

We just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who braved storm Darragh last night to come to our concert – it was amazing to share the music with such a full house despite the weather and we were pleased none of our contingency plans for playing during a power cut were needed!

This term we have been grateful for our orchestra members and guest players embracing an ambitious programme with such commitment, enthusiasm and good humour. Thanks go as always to our conductor Philip Singleton for continuing to stretch our capabilities and enabling us to put together such an impressive evening. This term we were also lucky to have a fabulous soprano soloist in the lovely Emma Pooley with whom we enjoyed working with immensely.

Thanks also to our committee and helpers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to run the orchestra alongside our front of house volunteers and friends of the orchestra. Thanks as always for the invaluable support of Marlborough College, St. Mary's Church Marlborough, Sound Knowledge, Making Music and The Performing Arts Service of the Wiltshire Library.

Our next concert will be at St. Mary's at 7:30pm on Saturday 29th March 2025. We hope to see lots of you there.

Now we are looking forward to our own concert on Saturday. Some lovely Christmas music and another chance to see Emma perform, along with our other soloists. Tickets available online at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/marlborough-choral-society or from Sound Knowledge.
