We are always asking our members what events they want to see in our diary and theatre nights has come up a lot! Let's face it, we all love the theatre, but when you are single you don't always have someone to go with. And it's an excuse to head into London a fun single group. Group theatre nights are looking to be really popular with our first trip next week to watch Why Am I So Single (well why not, this one is totally relevant) at The Garrick Theatre, London. Abba Voyage is next and The Devil Wears Prada.....what other theatre performances would you like to see?? Let us know! and come and join us.

Everybody is talking about Padel Tennis and that's because it's such great fun and so sociable - so we now run monthly social padel sessions for our members which are proving very popular! We were at Padel Maidenhead yesterday which was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon after the rainy windy weather had passed. An hour of mixed games and moving around to socialise and meet as many of the group as possible, followed by a well deserved refreshment in the club house afterwards. Our next session is Sunday 24th Nov and we are looking to roll out these into other areas! Singles, come and join us! www.dateinthediary.com

Any plans for Friday night? Well if you are single, why not get yourself out on the river and join us for a Paddleboard Tour. The sun is looking to be shining for a lovely early evening adventure (starts at 5pm). Our fabulous friends at Paddleboard Maidenhead are taking our Solo SUP'ers along a beautiful stretch of the river from Boulters Lock up to grounds of Cliveden. We talk a lot about the importance of friendship at Date in the Diary. Most people have friends in life but single people, and especially those who have divorced or are widowed, often find the dynamic of friendships does change when they find themselves 'single'. Well as you know we don't focus on dating here at Date in the Diary but that doesn't mean to say lots of dating doesn't go on! It certainly does. Our relaxed, no pressure events seem to work. We have lots of Date in the Diary couples that have met on our events and this week I heard from one of our couples Carine and Andy who had their first year anniversary date back in Marlow where they met at our June Monthly drinks last year! Happy Father's Day to all the dads, step dads and those who have stepped up! But a special nod goes to all the fabulous divorced and widowed dads who solo parent and especially all the single dads we have as part of Date in the Diary.
Many of our dads don't get to see their kids as much as they would like, many miss them like crazy, many have grown up kids who have flown the nest. Each of them has had or continues to have solo parenting challenges...... we have incredible dads as part of our Date in the Diary community and we have full respect and admiration for the role they play in their children's lives. It's never easy! So an extra cheers goes to you lot!

We haven't posted a quote in a while but we like this one - why? because our Date in the Diary members are all single, for whatever reason: and everyone's story is unique. Some of those who have been single for a while have learnt to be happy on their own, learnt to enjoy life again and have that 'solo' confidence. Some of them definitely have strong wings....
Our members don't need to date someone that isn't right and they don't need to compromise as they have a fantastic network of single friends to socialise and have so fun with! They have exciting dates in their diaries!

Well thank you Pub in the Park Marlow for another fantastic weekend. We took a big group of our single members on Friday evening which was a lot of fun and met up with a few more members in there. Each year we see more and more of our DITD community at this event. And having been the one to embark on this journey I cannot tell you how amazing it feels to have been able to connect all these single people and see them really enjoying being single, living their lives and just having fun - well it just makes it all worthwhile.

We love a Sunday walk - in fact today we are off for a 5 mile walk in Chilterns from Hambleden which will be followed by a well deserved Sunday Roast at the pub! Getting out on a Sunday with a group of like minded singles is great for the body and the mind!!
We have a members walk every month, but we have a very special walk planned two weeks today - a beautiful Woodland Bluebell walk, on Sunday April 28th in Great MIssenden. Bluebells in their full glory are just stunning, and not around for long so this is a great chance to not only walk with a group of fabulous singles but the last chance to see these stunning natural beauties on a stunning woodland walk. We are super excited to be spreading the Date in the Diary love in Surrey at last - Ali is going to be organising and hosting all our Surrey events and experiences starting with our launch social in Guildford next Friday 19th April! This weekend saw a couple of member birthdays - and Lisa and Lee decided to organise some birthday drinks with all the friends they had met through Date in the Diary. It was lovely for me to be invited and hang out with everyone without the role of host for a change. What really made me smile was looking at this photo (and not everyone wanted to be in this photo for social media) and thinking that no one would have known each other if it wasn't for the meaningful connections they have made through Date in the Diary Events. There was over 20 of us, 3 of our long term couples included but these guys really are friends for life whatever their relationship status is going forward! Happy Birthday Lisa and Lee!
