For the carnival this year we are bringing back the raffle, with some amazing prizes available from our very kind and helpful local community. The tickets are only available online, see the link and QR code in the picture to get your tickets and support our local charities. Marlow Carnival is a free to attend event and all the monies raised goes back into the local community and charities. We look forward to a fun filled day on September 14th.
Did you know about Liston Hall?
Liston Hall is run by the Marlow Community Association to support local clubs, societies, events, classes and social events, be it a children's birthday party or a wedding!
We host a number of events a few of them being:
- Friday 6th Sept - Comedy night with Laughing Chili Comedy & Events a Marlow Rugby Club fundraiser at Liston Hall - come and have a laugh!
- Saturday 7th Sept - Our Antiques Market - come and find a treasure!
- Saturday 14th Sept - Marlow Carnival at Higginson Park - a great family event for everyone
- Saturday 21st Sept - Karaoke Night at Liston Hall - let's hear what a fab voice you have!

Thanks to Lee and the team at First Light Electrical for another first rate job. They replaced all the lighting in two of our hire rooms for new, LED energy efficient lighting. They are a local company who have done work for us previously and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

Our bulbs we planted last autumn have started to spring with some beautiful daffodils making an appearance at Liston Hall.

It's the 1st of February and the sun is out, what a lovely way to start the month!
This month the Marlow Community Association are focusing on raising greater awareness for their 100 Club Lottery that supports the upkeep of Liston Hall - an essential facility for all in Marlow.
We are very grateful for the current support we have but are looking to see if we can build on this.
It is an opportunity for everyone to support their local community by spending £1 month / £12 a year and in return you not only have the chance to win a monthly cash prize, but you are equally doing a good thing for the community by supporting the upkeep of Liston Hall.
There are 100 tickets, everyone is welcome, the more people who join the more prize money available, up to £50 a month!

Liston Hall has a variety of rooms suitable for one off hires, or repeat classes / meetings. Great for children’s birthday parties, fitness classes, table top sales, meetings and more.

Liston Hall, based in central Marlow, offers a range of rooms for a variety of needs, be it one off events such as a children’s party, celebration, fitness class, meeting room or need a regular slot for your business/class.
Run by local charity, Marlow Community Association, the hall is run to benefit the community.
Our Thames Room is a medium sized room with its own private entrance, small kitchen and toilet, accommodating up to 50 with stacking tables and chairs.
Our Garden Room can hold up to 40 people and is a lovely bright room that overlooks our small garden at the front. It is carpeted, has curtains and is furnished with tables and upholstered chairs.
Both rooms are suitable for smaller functions, lunches, meetings, classes or small children’s parties.
We also have our Main Hall, a bright, high ceiling room with access to the main kitchen which industrial cooker and equipment. It can hold 200 people standing or 175 in a theatre style, it even has space for a bouncy castle!
All rooms have free Wi-Fi and screens / large plain wall for showing slides or films. A digital projector is available for hire.

In-between the wind and rain we were able to get down to the wild garden and plant some bulbs for the spring.
The challenge we have is keeping the area 'wild' but also presentable. So, we've had a bit of a tidy and tried to improve the soil in certain areas to encourage the bulbs to take. It's a long game, we'll see what happens in the spring and we'll keep building on it.
When spring comes, if you have any plants (preferable those that don't mind shade) going spare, please get in touch!
Craft Fair Saturday 25th November!
The U3A craft group are hosting a crafters fair at Liston Hall on Saturday 25th November with all profits going to Dementia Action, Marlow.
Lots of local, handmade and unique gifts, and refreshments available. Find out more details below, including if you would like to have a stall.

Our main hall can host up to 200 people and is a wonderful space to decorate for those special events. We’ve hosted weddings, birthday parties with a bouncy castle and Christmas socials.

The Garden Room is at the front of the building and can hold up to 40 people. Another lovely bright room with carpets, curtains and facilities to project be it a presentation or movie.

Our lovely Marlow Carnival takes place next Saturday 16th September! A community led event run by volunteers that is definitely worth a visit.
Loads of local bands, stalls, food, theatre groups, ice cream, children's entertainment and more!
With this, they are also running a silent auction ahead of the Carnival, closing when the Carnival finishes. Loads of lovely prizes on offer including vouchers for Brothers Hairdressers, signed Tom Kerridge cook book, Virgin Experience days, toy bundle and more!
