I absolutely love everything about this track, including the more upbeat Dance Mix, which I've played at The Legion. That said, the slower tempo, 80s-style drums, and guitars with an almost power ballad vibe—without ever crossing into cheesy territory—make it the perfect track to transition from early evening into the night at Zapato.

The way it achieves so much with so little is what really draws me to it. I've played it at every EDSC since I first came across it, and I’ve also noticed it’s been added to the Zapato house playlist during my visits, so it must be making an impression!

When we started Early Doors last year we wanted to get people’s heads nodding and feet tapping in the late afternoon and early evening- whether you were a walker finishing a pint, a family enjoying the afternoon together or a group of friends out for the day.

I love Sault and Free especially because of that amen break, the funk and the groove that gets you moving and of course the beautiful powerful vocal 💪.I must have played it or samples of it almost every Early Doors at Zapato Brewing over the last 12 months. - Larry k.

Following on from yesterday's post, our resident Bucky has picked his quintessential Early Doors track to share...

"It's Thinking" from the Hyperion record is one of those quintessential examples of early 90s electronic music that blends multiple influences, including deep house, techno, and trance. Released in 1994; it's a hypnotic and immersive track, featuring break beats, layered melodies, and atmospheric synths, which were common in the electronic scene of the time. Thirty years on; it never fails to capture the room.

In the run up to our birthday party on Saturday, we'll be posting some tunes we've played that have been big for us in Zapato Brewing and at The Legion over the last year.

First up, this one. An obvious classic but still an absolute belter. Andrew Weatherall's music has been pivotal us at Early Doors. We loved doing a party of just his music back in Feb to celebrate his life and birthday.

Has it been a year already?! We'll be celebrating our first birthday at our home, Zapato Brewing, in just over a week!

As ever, it's free and we're starting, Early Doors, around 4ish.

We'd like to thank anyone who's been down to our events at Zapato or The Legion (Thanks Poolclubpresents for having us!) over the last year. If you've danced, nodded your head or tapped your feet (Shout out to those that dance on tables too!!) we've loved playing some records for you.
