Have you ever wanted to keep stick insects? I have some to give to a family that would like them and look after them. They make great pets and just eat bramble/blackberry bush.

Hello from the Petsman and all the animals here at Animal Encounters - the Petsman
Just to let you all know we are now taking bookings for 2025, so if your a care home, school, organising an event, having a children's party, scouts, cubs, brownies etc and want something different give us a call, or email [email protected]
We also work with children with SEN. Its amazing to see how relaxed the children are with the animals, and the calming effect the animals have. We can even do one to one sessions if they would prefer.
We would like to wish you all a happy Christmas and hopefully meet many of you in the new year.

We had The Petsman come to my Son's 7th birthday party today. The children all had a great time learning about the different animals and handling them. We couldn't recommend Geoff more it was a great experience for the children!

The range of animals was brilliant, they were all so tame and well cared for and Geoff's animal knowledge and excellent. He was good with children and adults and clearly loves what he does. I would totally recommend Pet Encounters to anyone who wants an animal experience at their event.

Geoff was by far the most popular “station” at our summer fete. The animals were amazing and Geoff was fabulous with the children. Loved every moment-thank you!

Geoff was great with the kids and kept them entertained and made sure everyone had a turn holding the animals. There was an interesting variety of animals- something for everyone! Highly recommend

Amazing new millipedes

I would like to wish everyone a happy new year. A new year, new animals and new displays. We are now taking bookings for 2024, which hopefully is going to be the best year ever. Just a reminder we bring animals to your children's party, into schools, care homes, events and now to, weddings. I often get asked why I do this job? The reason is I love teaching people about the animals, animals that they might not ever own or see, talk about conservation, habitats, and give everyone a chance to hold/touch the animals. The children love the hands-on experience and it's something different for a party. The residents in care homes also love the hands-on and helps bring back memories of their time spent with animals. It's great to see residents with dementia smiling and interacting with the animals. Children with autism, ADHD, and special needs enjoyment, and interacting with the animals has a great calming effect. In schools, scouts, beavers, brownies, etc, seeing the children's excitement and amazement on their faces. Some are scared of snakes, but seeing their achievement when they, actually hold the snake.
