Two wonderful message received this week, one from the family who said goodbye to a wonderful man and the other from a couple who have read through the personalised wedding ceremony I have written for them. Two very different ceremonies both deserving something heartfelt and memorable. Everyday I feel privileged that people entrust me with key moments in their lives.

Well look who I met today. What a lovely guy he was and although he was obviously tired from doing the Children In Need challenge, he had time for everyone. What a top bloke, raising a lot of money for a worthy cause. Vernon Kay

I think I am so much better at being a Celebrant than I am at keeping my social media up to date.......must do better (just what my school teachers used to say!) Anyway today was my 17th wedding and needed some planning to get there BUT Storm Babet was not going to stop this girl getting to the ceremony. Congratulations L and PJ x

I am not the biggest fan of technology and most certainly grateful for my 17 year old daughter guiding me through it all (even though she says it's like watching a sloth in action when I am typing with one finger).
But when technology means family members in a different country can feel connected to a funeral of a loved one I say.... technology is fantastic!
Today I lead a service where family members in Australia were watching the Live Webcast. They have just messaged to thank me, as the miles apart just faded away and they felt involved.
So if you are planning a funeral and have friends and family who cannot be there for whatever reason, ask the Funeral Directors if a live Webcast is possible.

Been busy with wonderful wedding ceremonies and heartfelt funerals recently so apologies for lack of posts. Back on it now and yesterday lead a beautiful, intimate wedding for Katie and Giles at the fabulous Boutique Camping at Scaldersitch Farm, Peak District What a fabulous place, highly recommended. Congratulations K&G your daughters and family are just lovely. X

What a glorious afternoon. Leading the vow renewal of Debbie and Gary who have been married for 30 years. A special treat as I had two roles today, the other being Director of who sang for the couple as part of the ceremony and for their first dance which was so beautiful. Afterwards I was given this lovely bouquet, a joy to write and lead their ceremony, loved it.

It was a year today that Pete and Naomi entrusted me with their wedding ceremony. My first one after completing my training and I was so anxious to get it right.

With Dalediva singing as well it was my dream start to my career that I absolutely love and believe I have found my calling. 18 weddings now completed, 19 to do this year and 6 already booked for 2024.

I will never forget my first one and I thank Pete and Naomi for believing in me. Happy anniversary xx

So the wedding venue today was a heritage building, Victoria Baths, Manchester. Yes! The ceremony was in a pool (but without the water!)

Congratulations E & D. A privilige to share your love for one another infront of your friends and family and I loved that my little plan for the bin day song made you laugh.

Graham, the man of honour was just fabulous and will never forget his entrance. XX

18th wedding for this year just booked! Not only sending out booking forms today but also multi tasking as tonight I put on my Choir Directors hat and lead my Choir DALEDIVA to take part in Derby's own version of Eurovision. It's going to be alot of fun!

Whenever anyone contacts me regarding me being their Celebrant for their special day, I always insist we meet either face to face or via zoom. It's really important for them and me, so we can make sure we are the right fit for each other. I never expect a decision at this time, it's really important they chat afterwards and decide if I am the right person to write and deliver their unique ceremony. I only met this lovely couple this afternoon and a few hours later I get this wonderful message. Another wedding booked for 2024 with another great couple.

It's really important that before booking a Celebrant for your special day that you meet them, whether that's a zoom call or face to face.
It's the only way you will truly know if they are the right Celebrant for you. Because when they are, they will be able to capture the true essence of you as a couple, leading them to write and deliver the perfect ceremony for you.

As 2022 comes to an end I just want thank all the fabulous couples and lovely families I have worked with. 16 weddings and over 100 funerals. Very different ceremonies but a great privilege. I wish everyone joy and happiness as we approach 2023. X
