The Altitude festival 2019 took a year of plannng, development and performance by the Young People of Wirksworth and surrounding areas. It included regular choir work, carnival workshops, band workshops, drama workshops, song writing and performance AND much much more! Sorry we can not show everything here, thanks to all who took part and to Wirksworth Festival for making it happen. Looking forward to next year already.........

So much to see and do at the Altitude Festival this weekend Sat 14th 12 to 5 at Wirksworth Eco Centre and National Stone Centre, music workshops, choirs, crafts, bands, print a T shirt, woodland crafts, carnival parade, drama.....You Just Need robe there.😀 it is FREE!

Lots of local talent is showcased at the FREE Altitude Festival, Wirksworth next sat 14th. Bands will be on at the National Stone Centre from 3.30 to 5 and have been rehearing over the summer. Also on then bill is the amazing Last Generation. Come along and support them!🎹🎤🎸🥁

Just want to thank everyone involved in making Altitude Festival 2017 such a success, despite the rain that fell intermittently all day. The performers, programme and tech organisers, volunteers and audience kept up amazing levels of energy to support this fantastic family event that celebrates the creativity of young people. Please do leave your comments in reply to this post, we welcome feedback and ideas for how we can improve future events. Thanks again everyone!!!!

Huge thanks to everyone that made the first Altitude Festival such a success yesterday. Everyone on the team, everyone from Wirksworth Festival, The Derbyshire Eco Centre, The National Stone Centre, Mount Cook Adventure Centre. All the bands, artists, and performers.

Fleet Arts, Baby People the sound-tech team: Martin Bennett, Bob Newbold and Ted Edwards and, of course, all the people who came and had a good time with us.

If I've forgotten anyone, sorry, and thank you.

See you all next year.

Until then, there's still a week of Wirksworth Festival to enjoy!

Join us at Mount Cook Adventure Centre on the 18 September from 12 to 5pm for an afternoon showcasing the creative talents of young people. Activities will also be happening at the nearby venues of Derbyshire Eco Centre and The National Stone Centre - come along to celebrate the arts in this beautiful setting. If you are 25 or under, and would like to perform or exhibit your work please contact [email protected]

Mount Cook Adventure Centre in Derbyshire providing access to the outdoors for everyone. We welcome school groups, youth groups and groups of all ages and walks of like to enjoy the beautiful Peak District and adventure beyond boundaries.
