A very quick whistle stop tour of the shop and how it’s looking since we got our new shelves up.
Loving having local candles and diffusers from @brambleandbloomuk and @darcynbear, they make the shop smell amazing, or so people tell me as I’m so used to it I can’t smell it anymore ☺️
The cards, wrapping paper and t-towels and aprons are from @rachelmeehan_pictureswords and have been really popular. Everyone especially enjoys the fact that Rachel is a local designer from Birgham.
Another local supplier is @naturallittlebee. Their products are all natural made with local honey and beeswax.
Our gorgeous @beeseeporganics soap isn’t as local but Scottish nonetheless and adds to the amazing smell of the shop.

Friday night was my first time at a @sistersssocial event. And it just so happened to be in my flower shop in Melrose.
Bella from @sistersssocial set up wine and nibbles and welcomed everyone to the event.
My demonstration was all about arranging flowers in a vase and talking about how to make sure your flowers look just as good in the vase as they do when they’re delivered to you all beautifully arranged and presented.
Emma from @emmarawsonworkshops then demonstrated how to make bath bombs with kitchen cupboard ingredients.
It was a really wonderful evening, the sun was shining and everyone was in good spirits, lots of chat and laughter and happiness. 🥰

If there was ever a perfect Sunday, visiting Zena and her lovely family at their peony farm just outside Kelso, would definitely feature!!
Zena took me on a guided tour of the peony field and described all the different peonies, explaining the size and colours and characteristics. From the more common to none the less stunning Sarah Bernadt variety to the rare Tropicana’s.
Im delighted to let you all know that I’ll have some @flouerflowers peonies in the shop hopefully from next week and all during the peony blooming season.

I’ve spent the day at the shop sorting out stock. (In other words Moving pots and vases from one box to another)☺️
So I was delighted to come home to a delivery from @lucymillershop with her beautiful cards and gift wrap.
I can’t wait to have them displayed in the shop for you all to see. They compliment my flowers perfectly.
Lucy has been an absolute delight to buy from. She’s been so accommodating and helpful. Lucy sent my order out super speedy so I would have it in plenty time for shop opening day. And the order was packed beautifully.

So last Thursday was my last day in @hendersonsofmelrose. I’ve had the best time working (it’s never seemed like working) in such a beautiful shop with my flowers. I’d like to thank Kate for being such a wonderful host and for not only sharing her space with me but her support, encouragement and cheering on has allowed me to take this gigantic step. I’ve loved spending time in Melrose and meeting lots of really lovely people and because of this I’ve decided to take on my own wee shop. I’m beyond excited but also terrified at the same time. It’s a huge step in a direction I had never planned on until recently.I can’t wait to share more details in the next few days of where and what the shop will look like. Watch this space…….
